I've already begun negotiations with Blackhawk. Told them if they wanted what theyre asking I better be getting % of the mineral rights. Otherwise I'm lowballing the figure.

I think we may have an OBGT turkey shoot-out out there next week after we close on the deal.

My friends say I'm delusional, but I just know my ticket is the one

You gonna get a hippo with a pellet gun? I'm all for getting a lion, but I don't think I want to be 20 yards from it when I shoot

I'd buy my grandpas land back in Bassfield, ms.
I'd buy some land in Wyoming,
I'd buy a camp in Venice, along with a boat.
I'd buy a brand new tricked out van.

I have no desire to shoot African game with a gun, but I have plans to make a trip, with a friend, when our kids are big enough to go. A camera is fine, I just want to see the sights...

Actually hippo is the bait for the leopard.

I talked to a friend of mine who killed a leopard with a bow. That is a hunt I will go on one day.

He said you go kill a hippo the first day and bait a few spots. Then you build brush blinds and sit them all night in the pitch black. They throw on an infared light when a leopard comes to the bait and you have about 10 seconds to draw and shoot before the leopards gone. I can only imagine the rush of sitting in the pitch black in the middle of Africa all night next to a bait, not knowing what's coming to it, with my bow in my hands.

Go ahead and buy it. I'll live out there and keep it up for you. All you have to do is show up and hunt. Deal?
Sounds like a shitty deal to me. How about we go in halves and I get to do some of the upkeep also. I'll be damned if someone is gonna rob me of the opportunity to blister my hands working on my own land

Blackhawk is still for sale. I really like the location.

Damn i didn't know that. I spent allot of time on that property when they were just putting up the high fence and building the lodge. That area is deer paradise even without the high fence.

But to the original topic. I would pay off all my debts then buy a Freeman 33 and a nice camp in Cocodrie and definitely 1k+ acres in the boonies. I would keep my current home and just spend most of my time between the fishing and hunting camps.

I'd also have the recliner from the KR saddle shop and a gold plated toilet seat.

Its a pretty fantastic place. Getting the guys with the neighboring properties to sell would be the tough part. Big money fellas on those tracts of land the border it.

First thing's first, I'm finding the best Estancia in Argentina, renting it for a week, taking my good buddies down and footing the whole bill for 6 days of dove hunting, badass beef, and good wine.

Then, buy the 25K acres we lease (currently for sale for $21M...think I can get them down.) Build a nice lodge on the place for me and mine.

I really would make an effort to rebuild a native quail population in Louisiana and start on my new 25K acres. Maybe surround it with a hurricane fence and start picking off varmints to give them a fighting chance. I just really like the idea of having them around.
