I became well versed with first aid methods thanks to all of my knife encounters. LOL That being said I would suggest something with a lock blade.

They make one like that with a lock now. Got my oldest that one for his first knife so he would be marginally less likely to cut himself. can't count the times I cut myself closing the old ones on accident.
