I’m a sucker for a slick 8 and I’ve got a nice one that’s been hanging around all year.

Needs about ten more years.

Just joshin, that’s a good looking buck. Could go another year, as they always can, but very well might not get any better than it’s sitting right now.

That would be like a 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 old deer, here, with that much mass. You have some great genetics and a good protein source if that one is a young deer.

I think he’s a stud 3 year old but he could be 4. Either way he gets a pass this year and probably next year.

Let’s not get crazy. The deer probably only weighs 117 lbs

Yeah. Especially when I’ve got this slick 8 on my wall.

Hahaha he’s closer to 150lbs. Most of our mature bucks weigh around 200lbs.

That's more like it. STX deer are like nothing else in the deer world. Spent some time down that way recently and it was awesome but also a head scratcher on how those deer act so differently than anywhere else.

That is a beautiful deer.

Not down where you were, but I was near Rocksprings this past week and saw many great deer. For comparison, this was the probably the best deer I saw this weekend.

It truly is amazing the genetics and population south of I-10.

That 10 behind him is a really nice deer. He got his arse whipped this week and has a broken G3.

Brooks county.

I’ve brought a few buddies from the OB out here over the years.
