I think your friends lack understanding of what is felt when you take an animals life. Are we full of pride and sense of accomplishment, yes, but I dont hunt with anyone that gets all silly and giddy over killing an animal.

I dont know how to explain it, but every hunter I know or would want to know has respect for the animals we hunt and kill.

I know a vegan/vegetarian who will eat the wild game I give him. He mainly does it because he does not like factory farming. He has his own chickens and eats eggs since they lay them any way. He would probably hunt if he had the chance.

shite, I am closer to being a vegetarian than I thought.

You know nothing but the good then. I know, but do not associate with, some guys that aren't as you describe. Guys that will only take the backstrap off a deer, or shoot over the limit on ducks because they shot a few spoonies and stomped them into the mud because they are "trash ducks".

Maybe. I went through a stage when I was a kid where I loved to kill. I blame it more on biology tho.

My son went "vegan" for a while in high school. One day I pulled a venison roast out of the oven to cool, went to take a shower and when I came back to the kitchen he had eaten half the roast. He said it was OK to eat because it was organic and not from a factory farm.

Thank god he quit being vegan and is normal now.

I can respect not eating factory farmed meat, I eat as little of it as possible. That being said I think most vegans are a little off.

The vegan you're referring to is a flaming member of peta.

They're pretty much all left wing idiots. If you ever question them on their believes their answers never line up.

99% of them are too stupid to realize that the concept they're pushing is communism. If you ask them if they're communist they will be adamant with their no.

I know a girl who is vegan EXCEPT for animals she hunts and kills from the wild. She has no problem with wild animals but has a problem with keeping them locked up in cages. That’s the kind of vegan I can understand, if any of them.

Nah, you know a chick who is largely vegetarian, but occasionally eats wild game.

She is definitely not vegan if she hunts, kills, and eats animals. The very core of veganism is no utilization of anything coming from an animal. That includes meat.

If she calls herself a vegan, she doesn't know what vegan is.

Does the vegan eat eggs and/or animal based processed foods?

I find vegans and vegetarians are very confused about either term and really have no clue what either means.....kinda like the idiots who want to ban assault weapons, yet have no clue what an assault weapon is.

Vegans = no meat or animal products period. No leather belts or shoes, no beeswax candles, no down blankets or jackets, no animal based cosmetics, no meat, no eggs, etc. None of it. And they're usually kooks.

There is no such thing as an absolute vegan. Your mere existence comes at a great cost to animal life. Eating vegetables requires the use of habitat and competing with wildlife for food. The modern lifestyle involves consuming large quantities of resources that cost habitat and poisons wildlife. I understand that there are choices that one can make to minimize their impact on animals, but you will never be able to avoid causing great harm to wildlife.

Oh, believe me, I agree 1000% frickin percent with all of this!! Perfectly stated.

Unless you live in the woods and forage for your own food (then you are competing with wildlife, and still impacting them), your life has impacted animals in some way.

These are the same type of people that complain about climate change, but live in an apartment in the city and drive a car, or use some form of automated transportation.

They just don't see those things as affecting their cause. Selective causative factors is all it is. I'll oppose what is convenient for me to oppose.
