I just bought one about 3 weeks ago and so far it's awesome. Cooked on it a bunch and it's super easy, might not get the same smoke level as you would from stick burner but it still makes some amazing pork butts and ribs.

Plus if you spring for one of the one with a WiFi PID just being able to monitor while at the store/work makes it way more useable

I just bought the Masterbuilt 560 yesterday and will do some reverse sear steak on it tonight to test the 700 degree searing. Maybe I do a butt or something this weekend.

I'm going to have my first child in August. I probably will be lucky to bbq more than leg quarters for the next year. Lol

Naw man. You’ll have all the time in the world to sit on that patio and smoke meat.... Because you won’t be going many other places. If ya gotta be awake, ya may as well make it smell good!

I've had mine as high as 762 before. It will sear the shite out of a steak.

I have the Pit Boss and it will get up to almost 600 degrees. We cook steaks on it with no problems

Steaks came out good, had a good flavor. I prob should have pulled them a couple of degrees earlier. More medium than medium rare but were still good. Not bad for the first cook.

All three are going to have things they are great at, and not so great at. It’s all going to depend on how you plan on using the grill. If you want to just throw in some leg quarters, burgers and veggies every once in a while, gas might be best. If you want to be able to cook good bbq, but want/need to be able to set it and forget it (to a degree), pellet is definitely the way to go. If you want to really dive in and be more hands on with cooking over a fire, and want the ability to cook a wider range of foods, charcoal is the way.

So you can wake up at 3 AM to put some Butts on and go back to sleep?

What are you initial thoughts on the MB? How’s built quality? How long are you reading the hopper will last during a low n slow cook?
