Want to get a decent sXs. Don’t want to break the bank, but don’t want to go cheap either

Should I just get the CZ bobwhite G2 and be done with it?

*******Update

Man, I love the gun. Def not fancy by any means, but I love how light it is for a 12 gauge. It handles better and easier than the 20 gauge over and under I have

You can probably find a real nice AYA or Fox for $500 - $1000. I had a Browning BSS 20ga and traded it for a custom rifle years ago

Those Fox’s are so fine, but also so expensive

My FIL bought a Win model 21 a couple of weeks ago
It came with .410, 28 and 20 barrel sets
It came highly engraved
And it was one of two and no one knew where the other was.

Unfortunately he sold it the next day and I didn’t get to see it.

That’s awesome. I have always wanted to own a side by side and lever action rifle

Now that I am bird hunting consistently figured I would bite the bullet on the sXs

Have you thought about what gauge you want?

I don’t have a rational reason, but I would only get a 28, 20 or 16 in a sxs.

Between the 2 kids and I, we have 6 of these in 20 & 28’s. They are our turkey guns.

I have handled the new G2 all terrain and it is well made. You will be well served with this gun.

It is not a fine gun. The purists will give you crap. They are serviceable tools

For reference, I have the Fox’s and AYA’s too. None of them are in the $900 range and if they are, you don’t want them. Also, these guns have screw-in chokes which makes them more versatile than fixed choke guns.

I already have a 20 gauge O/U, and. 12 gauge pump. I would likely get a 16 or 12 with the sxs

Yeh I read that with the sharptail model

Available in 12, 16, 20 , 28, and .410 with single selectable 28-inch barrels, Turkish walnut stocks, single extractor and 5 flush choke tubes (except 16 and .410, which have fixed IC/Mod), all inside a plastic case.

I've got the Sharptail and it is a sweet gun.

I looked for years for a sxs 16g and could never find a Fox or something else for less than 2500+

I would NOT recommend the CZ single selective trigger. It’s very stiff and unwieldy. The daughter wanted a o/u. Set one up for her with the single trigger. Didn’t work well choosing barrel. She now shoots the Bobwhite sxs with double trigger.

It’s really a tough selector

From that to wheelguns in crossdraw holsters and classic leverguns, yeah I guess so.
