They don’t all share the meal, do they? Didn’t look like a ton to go around.

Haines is such a cool town, we camped there for a few days and I've been dying to get back every since. Brown bears all along the salmon stream, eagles everywhere, beautiful setting.

Impressive how they eventually all worked together as a group.

Are you implying that humans aren't assholes?

Yeah, I went up there for the gathering of eagles on the river, but it flopped. Town was shut down, but still enjoyed my time there.

Its definitely my retirement location. Land is cheaper there than here as well.

Yeah, they will. To an extent. Dall's porpoise run between 350 and 500 lbs.

Pretty crazy they have never killed a human in the wild.

Isn't that where the Parker kid from "Gold Rush" and his parents live? Or is that just where his dad's road business is? They had a pretty cool house from what I remember from those early seasons when I watched.

Yeah. His grandpa built a lumber mill there when logging was big. His dad runs Southeast Roadbuilders, I do some business with them.

Their mine is on the Porcupine River, between town and the Canadian border. I went digging up there a few years ago and did ok.

Considering that Dall's are:

considered the fastest swimmers among small cetaceans
, I wonder why it didn't just straight line it out of there and force the orca's to match him/her. The probably could, but there's the chance they could give up.

the way they hunt, use teamwork, is actually pretty awesome.

My guess is that the fastest porpoise can’t straight line outrun a killer whale.

That pod of Orcas were all over. The little guy tried to run north it looks like but ran into a wall of Orcas toward the other side of the pier.

I've got some Orca video where they spend hours wearing out one little sea lion.

What's even more fun to watch though is regular humpbacks bubble net feeding. That's incredible.

Wow, that's an awesome display of nature. Not like those limp-fin sea world whales.

Only chance I could see for the porpoise is if he had somehow been able to slip between them and go to very shallow water.

Yeah, I've seen Orcas nose ashore to grab Sea Lions. They are incredible.
