What's a good semi auto SD shotgun, under$ 800

Mossberg 930s are pretty affordable.

No personal experience with them so I can't really refute it.

I haven't had an issue with my mossberg shotgun. It ain't the finest thing in the world, but it does what I need it to.

For $800 I'd dig around for a good used 1100, but that's just me.

Do they make a self defense gun?

I know nothing about shotgun models. But looking for something shorter than the two I got for home use.

They make police models.

Eta: and there are also 18 or 20" aftermarket barrels for almost every shotgun. You could buy a regular shotgun you wanted and buy the short barrel separately.

Look into an 1187 tactical. I'm not sure what they run though.

I hate those.

And there's a OB boycott on Remington remember?

Wouldn't recommend that as much as a used 1100P

I'm in the process of trickin out my cheap arse mossberg.

I'm parkerizing it, putting a tactical forend and stock on it, along with a 18 in barrel.

You want to put the threat down IMMEDIATELY

That's what it is for me, and I've got to get a DRT shot which is much more likely with a 12 ga within 10 yards than it is with a 9 or 223 - for me at least.

My plan involves evacuating, not clearing rooms. But then there's just two of us and she's got her 44. But if that SOB is found dead on my porch, he'll be found with a gun in his hand.

I just have a 870 22" that I bought a 18" Mossberg made for Remington 'security barrel' for it and put on a 2 shot mag extender. I can still use the gun for bird or defense. Swapping out takes less than a minute.

Unless you lose control of the damn spring. Taking the dimples out releases the follower assembly when you take the cap off.

Boing.
