Hit the beach after the hurricane made it by. Found all kinds of stuff on the beach this morning. Thought I would share the pics.

[/img]

Found about a dozen of these alive. Haven't been able to figure out what they are. About 1" to 1 1/4" diameter. White with black specs/markings.
[/img]

Baby sea turtle (already dead) Lots of leathery sea turtle eggs split open. Suppose the high surf unearthed a bunch of old nests with eggs that had previously hatched.

Seahorse
[/img]

Armored catfish. It was alive and released back. Sorry for the crappy photo.
[/img]

A few Calico crabs. Didn't have my phone on me at first but this is what they look like.
[/img]

Some type of whitish eel. No photo of it. About as big around as a cigar and 16" to 18" long. Saw it then it moved pretty well but was totally covered in sand. Thought it was a snake at first. Ended up releasing it back into the surf but forgot to get a photo.

Same exact beach just south of the Venice jetty where the whale washed up and died while we were here during spring break. [/img]

Always something happening at the beach around here.

Should be some great shark tooth hunting right now after the storm.

I’d take down the pic of the sea turtle. I don’t think we are allowed to touch them, even if dead.

I guess it is but seems to be able to live in brackish water at the very least. Evidently some kind of hazard to Manatees also. Beaches are full of coconuts which were flushed out of the intercoastal and washed up on the beach. Probably where the catfish came from also. Damn thing was hard as a rock and rough.

It is a plecostomus that is freshwater typically and is a invasive non native species.
