PSA has their basic model for $559 today.
Is this a good purchase? I've been searching for one for a while. I think it's time to finally...pull the trigger.
Not new to firearms, but I'm new to AR's. I guess there are a few questions as far as what makes it a good value, but I'm not sure.

Everybody seems to be satisfied with them.

Any tips on accessories (budget friendly if possible) are welcome.
Optics 1st.
if you are not planning on using iron sights there are plenty of optics out there.
On the budget side I have a vortex sparc2 and a holosun that I really like.
On another gun I have an eotech that probably my favorite of those.
On the other end of the spectrum is the LVPO. Low variable power optic.
You can spend as much as you want to on those that you want to.

If we’re talking a variable low power scope (1-4x for example), irons are basically just back up. Offset irons mainly give people in competition shooting a close quarter option to go along with a high magnification optic.

I honesty wouldn’t put any irons at all

If you're using an LPVO, you should go with offset irons. Troy makes offsets that fold.

Someone give me info on 7.62x39 and AR's.
Let's say you have your basic 223/556 AR, one of the entry levels (PSA, Radical etc).
What is needed? Upper, and magazines? I've seen the uppers, what's the story on mags?
Let's say got plenty of the steel cased 7.62, but currently limited to SKS, and want to add options. I've read there are all sorts of issues, and other people say things work just fine.

Biggest issue is the magazines. 7.62 is very tapered and for it to feed right the magazine needs to have a pretty large curve in the magazine. The magazine don’t fit in the AR well. ARs designed for the round have a much shorter mag well.
You would need a new bolt as well.
