Edit: not local but...

I sent my last one to veritas machining . a little less than 2 week turnaround and they did a fine job.

There is a local shop doing laser engraving on sbr's a friend was telling me about the other day. I will post it when I find out.

Looks like he's in the Port Barre area but he definitely does firearm engraving. Never used him but I am going to send one for him to do.

Wanting to update a 20 year old Colt barreled upper with the A2 front site round handguards. Would you keep the barrel? Are new barrels more accurate?

You can certainly get new, very accurate barrels. But simply swapping in a new barrel probably won't do much for accuracy over what you already have. There's a lot that can be done to get the most out of what you already have though.

I didn't phrase that question accurately. Are barrels made today better than barrels made 20 years ago?

In regards of heat stress affecting accuracy, yes. Just in a general sense, I would assume so as well.

Also, I’ve seen people link places to buy ammo affordably online in some thread here before, but can’t find it now. Any help?

Out of stock now. May just write the letter to nfa and change the barrel length. Seems to be easier than finding a quality 10.5" barrel. Lol.

No clue who makes these for DSG, but I’ve been pleased with them as a company overall.
