I'm running an omega in a 308 lite barrel with 1/2-28 threads. Definitely can do it. But expect a major POI shift. However mine has been repeatable and consistent. DO IT

The poi shift is 5" down and 1" left at 100 FYI

Holy shite that's a big shift. I guess as long as it stays tight and consistent from the adjustment it doesn't matter

I'm looking hard at a Trash Panda. Good can for .556 on up?

I think the trash lands definitely knocks the omega off its king of the hill. It's a little less modular do everything whizz bang features like the omega but it's lighter and shorter.

I think it's wider though correct me if I'm wrong carson

you are correct. It has a 1.75" diameter compared to the Omegas 1.5something. That's a good thing though. Bigger diameter = more volume = quieter + less back pressure. sure, it lacks the modularity to switch between DT and QD (which I used to care about) but it comes with a 1/2 x 28 brake and a 5/8 x 24 brake. I'm all about size and performance now, and it seems like the TP is the new king. Even the HB can (1.5" diameter, but long) is insanely quiet and well-constructed.

also, dont forget to take into account the weight of the muzzle device. Omega is like 3.5oz, TP is 1.2

what kind of setup do you have in your shop? it's kinda a pain in the arse, but you can do it with a dremel/angle grinder if you have one. be careful not to frick up the threads though

Only reason I asked is because brightside sounded interested in buying the dd 7 and putting a can on it.

So I was making sure it was doable to remove the pinned and welded and making sure he realized that was a step he would have to do if he went that route

Yeah, he would have to remove the flash hider and the re-pin and weld the new muzzle device.

yeah, he can def do it but he'll likely have to pay someone to pin and reweld, unless he has a tig rig at his house or something

Awesome looking rig! I am talking to him about getting a 6.5 setup as well. I am going to get few different things to shed a few Oz. Thats a nice heavy contour barrel it comes with...im looking at getting him to swap out to the Faxon Gunner 18". Looking hard at OD Green for the handguard, grip, and stock and black for the receiver set.

I think I can get it to be around 6lb when I get it all figured out what I want from him.
