Done a fair amount of research, and I'm certain I want to get an AR in 6.5 grendel. Gun will be used for deer and hogs under 150 yards primarily. I have ever a 308 which is perfect for this but the AR platform is attractive.
I'm looking at either buying a complete upper from Anderson ($378) and a palmetto lower ($179) or a complete gun from Hardened Arma
Is there any reason to buy one of these over the other? I would like to keep it around $700 max. I know of its not a huge budget, but I think it can be done for that.

If anyone sees a deal on a drop in trigger please post it. Example - Primary Arms had some CMC Triggers recently for $99.99. I bought one but should have bought several. TIA

Just got an EOTech EXPS3-0 today and threw it on my 10.3” SBR. God damn is it awesome. I still love my T2, which I’ll put on my 11.5” BCM, but this EOTech is just great to shoot.

Thinking about replacing my 300 BLK barrel with a Faxon 6.5 Grendel. I'll rebuild the BLK when I end up getting a suppressor. It's a pistol so I'd go with a 12" barrel. I have plans to build a 18 or 20" later. I figured I'd use this at the camp where there's almost no shot over 100 yards. My question is anyone know what distance I should be good at for whitetail, hogs... if I do need to stretch it? I plan on using my longer grendel when its built if I'm shooting at longer ranges but just curious what this will do for now.

6.5 grendel should easily reach out to 400-500 yds if need be. I think it’s good to 600yds but can’t remember for sure.

Out of a 12" bbl the Grendel is still laying down 1000 foot pounds of frick-you out to around 300 yards, depending on load. More than enough to roll some pigs or dirt nap a whitetail.
