I won mine in a $45 raffle so I love it
really tho I'd read up and see if they still have FTF issues. Some did and some didn't. I have only shot mine in one outing and I did have some jams. But it's specific to rounds...some brands did fine some jammed. I do recall reading that after 100 rounds or so it loosnend up for the ones that had issues. Some said the heavy oil it's shipped with would cause it. I did not pre clean mine so maybe so?
This is mine as it sits now

Nice! not bad for $45
What scope do you have?
Posted on 6/15/16 at 10:35 am to El Magnifico
Yea it was pretty cool to win...I have won a few shotguns in the past. I guess really it cost 300 or so becasue I took chances on some other things as well but only 1 square on that one.
Its a Nikon M-308.

What do you guys know about the binary firing systems?
Posted on 6/15/16 at 3:49 pm to sonoma8
I haven't shot the binary triggers yet, but feeding and ejection failures may not be due to the trigger itself. Most barrels these days are heavily over gassed so that they can eat a wide variety of shite ammo and still function. No manufacturer wants to get a bad rep bc their rifle can't cycle shitty import ammo. This over gassing isn't noticed by 99% of AR owners because they can't run the rifle fast enough. When you start upping the cyclic rate the problems with these over gassed rifles can show up in the form of bolt bounce, feeding/ejection failures, no holding open after last round, hammer follow on non-auto sear variants, etc. The problem is further amplified when you also incorporate a suppressor or back pressure generating muzzle device. These issues are easily remedied with heavy buffers or adjustable gas blocks. For instance, in my converted ARs I run H buffers in 16" bbls (some will function fine with carbine weight, 3.0oz) and H2 or H3 in 10.5" depending on the gas port size.

What are the thoughts on putting cheap chinese optics and flashlights on the .22 AR platform?
I really don't wanna drop the money on another aimpoint and since recoil is the downfall of crappy accessories...
What I need them to be able to do:
I wanna be able to grab the gun during a commercial break, run outside, and blast the coon, possum, or armadillo in the face... and walk back inside no worries.
Doing it currently with a 10mm and a streamlight, but that's a little loud for 3 am.

I have a UTG bug buster on my 15-22. About three or four years and still on target.

Go with a Primary arms micro or Bushnell trs25. Idk enough about budget flashlights to recommend anything on that end.

Might sound silly, but if I'm spending over 50 bucks I'm just gonna spend a few hundred bargain hunting.
I have a utg red dot in my amazon cart for 40 bucks, a forward grip for a whopping 16, and a nebo for 20.
All told, I'd be into this thing for under 500 bucks. I'm just curious if anyone has done a true budget .22
Lookin at the AR forums, they have guys running airsoft accessories on the .22s and they hold up fine.
But...I tend to use what I buy.

I have a GSG-5, the 22 lr imitation MP-5. I put a NCStar Red Dot hologram on it, about $30 bucks a couple years ago.
Still on target as of a couple of days ago; I put a few hundred rds through it. Fun as hell.

I notice the build page linked at the beginning is 5 years old. Anyone seen any newer threads/pages? Just doing some research for a possible build. Got a new safe and have more room now, time to fill it

How you boys feel about key mod vs mlok handguards? I'm still on my traditional old picatinny rails. Thought about adding another Ar15 to go along with my colt 6940.
