Honestly I would go with the MPx or CZ scorpion if you want a pistol caliber carbine

Stocks were impossible to find, then stupid expensive. Not sure about now.

But, why? What do you like about either over a AR9?

Nice, I was wanting to go with a QC10 lower as well, but for colt mags. Is there any benefit (function wise) to glock over colt? I really like the looks of the side charging uppers they are suppose to be making as well, but they don't appear to have hit the market yet.

No advantage that I know of. I have a few Glock 9mms, so just what I stuck with. The Colt lowers actually have a LRBO that the Glock lowers do not.

Gibbz makes an upper that matches their lowers well and is fully compatible.

I enjoy the heck out of gathering parts and assembling these things, so assuming I can build something that functions just as good as the ones listed I'm all for it.

They aren't bad now. Could always use buffer tube adapter for use with AR stocks.

Another plus on the CZ suppressed is there is no gas blowback in your face like an AR or MPx have through the charging handle.

But I've just never really be a fan of pistol caliber on the AR platform. i find the carbines specifically designed for the pistol caliber to function better, although my experience is somewhat limited

I dont have any experience with the colt based AR9s, but I have heard from many that they can be super picky with mags. That's just the word on the street though. But there were enough claims that when I was looking at getting AR9 receivers made I went with the Glock configuration with LRBHO.

GSF lower
MUR upper
Wilson 7.5" barrel getting cut to 4.5
CMMG BCG
Samson Evolution 9 rail
Magpul STR
Spikes Tactical enhanced LPK
JP Enterprises reduced springs
Eotech XPS2
Raptor CH (pretty sure waste of money)
Some stupid expensive buffer

Biggest plus. I ordered a Raptor handle for mine. Never spent that much on a CH before. Hope its worth it shooting with a can.

That brings up another question. I've read that the side charging upper eliminates the blow back when shooting suppressed (or at least nearly eliminated it) due to there being no charging handle at the traditional position. Any merit to that claim?

I wouldn't think that gas blow back to the face would be an issue on 9mm ARs with cans since they don't use the DI gas system, and because 9mm has a max PSI around 35k while 5.56 is somewhere around 60k. Glad to see someone with one chime in on it.

This is second hand info but while looking at my 22lr AR which I had put one of the CMMG 9mm gas deflector/dust cover assemblies my friend said his dad had to change the standard dust cover on his 9mm AR to one of the CMMG 9mm specific ones because left handed shooters would get a lot of gas to the face out of the ejection port. Right handed shooters did not have an issue.

My MUR upper doesn't even have a deflector. Didn't notice it till I unboxed it.

Last week I got in my 16" complete upper with 15" Keymod handguard from Propagandolf/Sulzer along with an LPK w/o grip or FCG. Everything was shipped extremely fast and packaged well. Fit and finish on the upper looks amazing. One thing that shocked me was how skinny they Keymod handrail is opposed to the quad picatinny I'm used to on my issue M4.

So far I have in my possession or arriving shortly...

-Sulzer LPK w/o grip and FCG
-Sulzer Enhanced Aluminum Trigger Guard
-Sulzer complete 16" upper with 15" Keymod handguard
-MOE K2+ Grip
-BCM gunfighter mod 0 stock kit
-Anderson 5.56 complete BCG
-Vortex Spitfire AR 1x Prism Scope

I'm still waiting on my lower from Aero Precision to come in. They allow you to add to cart and purchase without saying a word about backorder leading you to believe it's in Stock but when you call and ask they say it's on backorder 4-6 weeks. Not very happy about that at all.

The only two things I still need are a trigger and charging handle. What charging handles do you guys recommend? I'm right handed. Secondly any experience with CMC vs velocity triggers? Right now primary arms is having a sale on CMC triggers in the $140 range.
