yes, made by Tufforce

some reviews if you are a nonbeliever

Great brake. Mounted a carry handle to the bottom so I can unscrew it in the field without tools. Make sure you use a little bit of anti seize and some non-removable loctite to make sure the brake does not unthread unless you force it to! I made sure it was tight with a 5 foot breaker bar and my Harbor Freight bench vise. I then backed my Dodge ram into the breaker bar at about 1.5mph to torque it to what I feel is roughly 1,000 lb feet of torque. Should last a good long time on my Mosin Nagant.

used this product on my operational AR and with the addition of some picatinny to picatinny adapters I was able to mount four additional flat top AR's on this muzzle device giving me an optimal amount of rail space for all of my laser sights and grenade launchers

quote:

2 days after purchasing this, I received a call from a Seal Team 6 recruiter. I'm waiting to see what Delta Force offers me before I make my decision.

And if you do go 300 BO don't be like a couple of the idiotic mall ninjas around here and try to hunt deer with your suppressed 300 BO using subsonic ammo.

I haven't seen anyone try this.

I think I'm going with a 16" BCM upper with the 15" KMR rail

I'm looking at the BCMs, too. Backing away from my initial plan to get a 14.5/1.5 and go with a 16", middy, with an A2 for my build. Mrs. Midnight might get a brake, but it just depends on how she shoots mine. I mean, her ready gun is a giant (yet somehow snub-nosed) .357 magnum N-frame and she doesn't complain about the recoil and flash on that. But, she doesn't like .45 ACP or .40 S&W pistols. This was part of my movement to 9mm to try to get to something like standardization.

Her current rifle is an AR180b, but I just never fell in love with the thing. It's light, but it is very "AK"ish. Part of the problem is that I don't have the hundreds of hours/1000s of rounds of experience with the platform.

As for finishing the lower, I'm leaning towards an ALG trigger and BCM H or H2 buffer. Also continuing to lean towards Magpul MOE furniture in FDE, but may explore other Magpul options before settling.

I think bcm has started using the a5 buffer system

I like that you can have 1 lower mate with a number of uppers. However, I'm thinking this may be a "jack of all trades, master of none" situation. May look at Spikes ST-T2. I wasn't crazy about the idea of reciprocating weights (from anybody) and the ST-T2 seems to get positive reviews without that drama.

I don't think buffer is as big an issue with a 16" or 20" barrel as it would be for a 14.5" or shorter, but - hey, Lego for adults and this is a piece by piece build (to a point, I may just get a BCM barrel, upper and BCG, and add handguards and optics.)

bcm has so many uppers to choose from.

Can somebody give me a quick rundown of why not to get a 14.5 with permanent flash hider instead of the 16"?
I assumed I would just prefer the slightly shorter overall length.

You won't notice the difference in the 14.5 and 16, but you will forever be stuck with that particular muzzle device. Not worth the trade off IMO.

Thanks.

So basically giving up flexibility?

I would like a suppressor one day but not on a 16" barrel.

Oh never mind wasnt thinking of other types of muzzle devices

Yes the muzzle device is permanent so you will not be able to change different flash hiders or be able to add a suppressor.

I would just go with the regular 16" barrel and then if you ever want something shorter you can get a SBR or pistol. Form 1 stamps are really easy to do for the SBR.
