And what would the benefit of these be? With less than half the velocity you may not even break the shoulder. Of course I'm talking shooting deer.

The video shows a guy with a dead coyote and it mentions hunting. Is it enough energy for deer? I don't study that stuff.

I wouldn’t use it for deer. Only 461 ft-lbs of energy at the muzzle

Thats what I was wondering...they are calling it a hunting round. I want to see someone shoot it into some gel at 100 yards. Carson...I nominate you and your Fix lol. Got a cpl more guns to peddle and then im going finger a fix and see if it scratches that itch

Is it possible that the bullet is designed around being more deadly at the lower energy? Seems thats what they are saying in the vid. Not that its a standard round with less powder...but with relief cuts for expanding while going slower.

Deer don't read ballistic tables, a bow delivers around 60 - 80 ft-lbs and still kills them, and shot placement is king.

i didn't say it wouldn't kill them, I said I wouldn't use it. Not everyone will get perfect shot placement regularly

Not arguing your statement just saying that an arrow has a cutting edge with ~ 1” or more of cutting diameter.

I would not use these for deer. Pigs on the other hand...

I mean if you are really really determined to hunt with subsonic just use 300blk. It still has more energy than the 308 version

True and a larger grain. My only 300blk is in need of a stamp before I can shoot it doe.

If you are using sub-sonic ammo to hunt anything, you plan on getting pretty close to it. 50 - 75 yards which is damn near point blank for any centerfire rifle, especially using any kind of magnified optic. Don't overlay a typical hunting scenario here, that isn't what this stuff is intended for. Only part I take issue with Winchester is target/plinking aspect, roll your own with cheap ball ammo if shooting paper and steel.

Well the arrow does have to makeup for lack of remote wounding characteristics. I wouldn't waste this ammo on pigs either; suppressed rifle, full-power heavy bullets, and plenty of them.

It's a MCX that is a 16" 556 already. So can't make it a pistol. Have the 9" barrel ready to go...just have to wait.

That's just it tho I think they are marketing it as hunting ammo as well as plinking. Not that it's right or wrong. Someone will test it out st some point in sure.

This makes no sense to use as a hunting round unless you are planning on shining deer at ni.......
