The (LWFC) welcomes Duke Lowrie as its newest member!
Lowrie, a lifelong resident of Bossier Parish, is co-owner of Acadiana Mortgage of Louisiana Inc. and Acadiana Farms, where he actively operates a crawfish farm.
A dedicated conservationist and sportsman, Lowrie previously served as Chairman of the Northwest chapter of Delta Waterfowl. He also served as Executive Director of Flyway Federation USA, where he helped launch a national dialogue on the decline of migratory waterfowl populations and the impacts of unharvested flooded agricultural lands. "I grew up with a deep passion for Louisiana’s outdoors, blessed to witness skies darkened by migrating ducks each winter. I always looked forward to sharing that experience with my children — only to watch it diminish rapidly in a short span of years.
Like so many Louisiana hunters, I feel our natural resources slipping away and our identity as Sportsman’s Paradise at risk. God has blessed us with an extraordinary gift, one I cherish deeply and am committed to defending. I am grateful to Governor Landry for this opportunity to serve on the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission and to help ensure that future generations can enjoy the same rich hunting and fishing heritage that has defined our state."

Any appointment by Gov Landry to the LWFC should be met with significant skepticism.

He's a crawfish farmer. One of the main reasons we have no ducks. That should tell you enough.

I am very thankful to the crawfish farmer that supplies me my ducks.

Where? Bio says he’s a lifelong resident of bossier parish.

Right there in my post

From LDWF website:

Acadiana Farms, where he actively operates a crawfish farm. Louisiana has over 300,000 acres of "dedicated crawfish ponds"

So either this ole boy is confused om his Louisiana geography/history, or he's one of those absentee operators.

Because Bossier Parish ain't in Acadiana...

Immediately skeptical of him if he was involved with Goins. Gonna have the LWFC discussing and supporting meaningless NOIs that won't go anywhere because the feds control waterfowl regs.

Mr Lowrie has been griping about the numbers of ducks on numerous forums since like 2006.

I never knew he was in the crawfishing business. 300,000 acres of crawfish ponds that were probably once good duck habitat is something. But the flooded corn to the north of us….

As a previous resident of bossier parish, a few folks I know say he is an idiot. That’s all I got. Edit the guy everyone says is an idtot is a different flyway federation guy that is in the dixie inn area not Bossier. I retract the previous statement about him being a known idiot.

. Years ago my name was given to a Governor for this.

I can freely admit the person chosen over me and the 3 others was the best choice.

Word is from said Gov I was 2nd place.

I did get the Govs ear about increasing youth and veteran hunting opportunities which created / increased youth, veteran, disabled and elderly opportunities private and public lands - took awhile but hey - I planted those seeds.

Way back then I saw first hand that 3-4 things were a growing issue for wild La and those chickens have roosted. My view on those may have hurt my chances some but …..I stand by them.
