i have 2 pair. one is the slip on and another has the bungie cord laces. neither has any cushion or support. it kills my feet/calves/hips

Those look hot AF. I need something to wear that is not hot here and doesnt soak up the smell. I guess Crocs may be the deal but I have been wearing flip flops and I need some better cushion

Get some chacos or Tevas. Ugly as sin, but easy on and off, they float, and if you end up in the water there’s really no reason to take them off.
Chacos are more expensive but have an excellent sole. They were made originally for rafting guides.
Tevas are effectively the same just an overall cheaper build and price

Try barefoot. I’ve fished barefoot all of my life. I have flat feet and my feet hold the deck better without shoes. That goes for pirouge’s, shrimp boats, to a 73 ‘ Hatteras. All barefoot. Except when it’s cold.

I hear you. I made the mistake of buying a pair of casual shoes from them thinking they would be like my drainmakers but they weren’t even close.

try on some Teva sandals...they have some arch support...
I don't have to use my plantar fasciitis arch support with those...
they do make a lot of plantar fasciitis arch support sandals...

That is what I do now. And have been for many years. But I am getting older and fatter and I need some cushion or my legs and back are done by the end of the day.
Maybe the answer is just soft decking on my boat.

Grab a pair of Adidas Ultraboost Climacool shoes, you can find them on sale in the $100 range. They're the most comfortable shoes on the market and the Climacool ones have a vented upper you can wear sockless

since i just ordered a pair of Huks. reviews were good so we'll see.
I’m on my first pair now.
I think they are more comfortable for my feet than my extratuffs but the color is wearing where my foot flexes when your foot bends when stooping or whatever.
If that matters to you.

Get some Chuck Taylors; they are perfect for fishing.

I feel your pain. That hurts like hell. I ve been stuck in my hands and it hurts. Plus the infections that may follow.
But I’m pretty quick on my feet barefoot.
We used to fuel the boat at Tesoro in Fourchon. We made an adapter to fill the boat off of a 4” fuel line.
Whenever I fished with the “city slickers “ from BR that I would throw the stern line then take off across the limestone or oyster shell barefoot to go the office.
They just couldn’t understand an old coon arse running around without shoes.
Great guys but a bunch of tenderfoot’s

I’ll admit I wear crocs a good bit on the boat. They are comfortable and they are fine to keep on if I jump in the water since they dry super fast.
