Started building a country kitchen table out of SYP that I sawed up the logs off my mill. It will be live edge. Got the top boards all planed out. The slabs have been drying well over a year. I did stack them inside in a bedroom to let them dry a bit more before putting it all together. Didn't take any pictures, but once I start up sawing up the wood for the legs, I will. The slab I have for them is 4" thick and all that will be mortise joints.

Got out this morning and went and picked this 4"x18" pine slab..
Had put it on the sawmill and sawed it up to what I wanted.
After cutting things up, I then passed two edges on the jointer. By doing that, that gives two straight edges. Once that is done, I pasted them on the planner. The stocks are different widths, but they are the same thickness.
All that is for the legs. Still need three more pieces left to do and then I will start putting it together.
On a side note. Moisture level is at 9%. I have all wood stored inside my house stacked and stickered. With the ac running, I should have it below 8% in no time. Wife gave me the go ahead knowing this table is for our daughter.

Why don’t you put it in the camp w the AC on vs the house? That would probably make the wife happier.
I’m building a barn owl box with my kids to put up in a tree out back. Will get some photos tomorrow.
Anybody use WiFi outdoor security cameras? I’m thinking of putting one in the box so my kids can watch the owls.

They work ok as long as you don't cheap out. Putting one in the box will probably keep owls out more than anything though, animals can pick up on electronic noise that is well beyond our hearing.

Got the last of the boards all done. I will start putting things together maybe tomorrow.
Oh, on a side note. The wife asked if I was building another house. She didn't know how much wood goes into a table.

Started my mortise and tenon cuts. The tenon cuts were done on a table saw.
>
The mortise holes are 1 1/4" thick. So, laying things out, knowing the my mortise holes need to be 1 1/4" as the tenon is, You lay that out.
Once lay out, I used a 1 1/4" chisel and marked down into the wood about a 1/4". This prevents the drill bit from tear out.
Drilling with a 1 1/4" bit. Back up the piece you drilling with a scrap board and drill thru.
Once done, chisel out to square.
Both legs for the start.
You want a very tight fit. Got more done, but rain out of no were came.

The loft bed I built for my daughter. Complete with led lights underneath, and speakers for her music.
Should have soundproofed the walls.

How can she stay in it?
Nice work.

Mattress sits down in it. The top of the outside panel is about 6" above the mattress surface, and the rail is another 6" above that. She loves it, and it freed up tons of floor space for her. I built in tons of shelves to try and keep as much stuff as possible off the floor.
The stairs are connected to the landing on hinges so it can be swung up when needed. I'm going to install a little winch setup in the future for it.
Main reason for building it was to give her a place to do her art and homework, and not on the kitchen table or island.

You got it.
Nice.
A little more done today.
This is somewhat the outside legs will look like once everything is finished.
Have to head to New Orleans early in the morning. Transplant team check up.
Bad thing, my heart monitor stopped working.
Dam team lit up my phone all day to try to get things going again. Didn't happen. Getting real short on my battery life. Guess that is why their panties are bunch up.Guess they are looking at that 125K pay day. Could give a rats arse.

That's going to be one heavy table PawPaw. Looking good man, and that pine almost looks like cypress with that graining in spots.
