In AL, CMP in Talladega or Purcell (or Pursell) Farm in Sylacauga.
Could probably hit up both as they aren't that far away from each other.

From friends that have been to CMP, they said it was awesome as far as the action pistol and long range rifle ranges. They did a round of sporting clays and said it was a sweet set up, but they liked Sellwood much better. Still, worth stopping in Talladega for.

You're not getting on Providence Hill unless you know someone that's a member. Or you can find a way to schedule with a registered shoot.
In Georgia, Big Red Oak and Meadows Gun Club are fantastic.
If you drive a little further, places like Backwoods Quail Club, Rocky Creek sporting clays, Elberton Gun Club, and several others.
If you want to shoot the absolute best sporting clays facility in the country, drive on up the The Fork Farm & Stables. It's near Charlotte, NC and Jim Cogdell spares no expense for making your shooting experience the best ever.

Had a blast here two years ago, Red Oak Plantation in Georgia. Traps are thoughtfully set in natural wooded settings and very fun to shoot. Big Mike the manager is a great guy. We also did a quail hunt which I highly recommend.

Yeah I've been to the pistol range and the rifle range. I've never actually been out there to the sporting clays setup before. It seemed sort of pricey if I'm remembering right. It's been a couple years since I've been out there because we moved out to the sticks and got a nice sized piece of land and I just shoot on my place now.
But, when I did go to the range out there, everything is really nice and everyone is very helpful and professional. I always liked it.

Trip Recap.
My schedule cleared up and we were able to roll out from South Louisiana on Tuesday morning. I booked room at Pursell Farm for Tuesday night, we got in early enough to tour around the farm and had a nice meal at the pub.
A view from the pub overlooking the 18th hole
We shot Pursell that morning in a misting rain. Everything was top notch and the workers were very friendly. This course was 14 stations and split between shooting up into hill and out across the field.
From there we drove about 30 minutes to Selwood Farms. This place had an 18 stations and a mix of technical towers, etc. I think this place gets a lot of traffic and some of the machines were acting up. Still a nice place to shoot.
We drove 3 hours, north of Atlanta and spent the night so we could shoot Garland Mountain the following morning. Garland Mountain was nice with 3 courses, 12 stations each. We ended up shooting 4 targets per station and shooting in the intermediate and advanced course. We had a great lunch and my son shot a round of wobble trap before moving on.
My light game gun had worn out my shoulder so we skipped Etowah Valley and drove south to Thomasville. I picked up some fresh Georgia peaches along the way.
We stayed in Thomasville Thursday night and visited Kevin's Sporting Goods on Friday morning. We were provided a tour of the upstairs gun room which was loaded with new and used fine guns.
We left there and drove to Ravenwood, which is north of Dothan. This course had 14 stations with 3 machines per station with the option to shoot a beginner, intermediate or advanced selection of targets at each station. We really enjoyed shooting here but in hindsight, we should have stayed in North Bama and Georgia and saved some driving.
Total, we drove about 1500 miles and shot about 900 rounds over the course of 3 days.
