Wizard. . .Your first sentence is factually incorrect. CC of Louisiana has actually done some damage in lobbying efforts of legit conservative groups, since some political officials will never do anything that CCA of Louisiana asked, since they have been lied to on so many occasions.

Everything else you stated is 100% correct.

You can't help yourself, can you? CCA must have diddled you when you were young, like 80 years ago. You are a broken record and a broken man.

Motorboat:

I want to sincerely thank you for your last post; it literally proves everything I have been saying about CCA of Louisiana and its blowhard followers. It also establishes why from Baton Rouge to Washington; it is known as the Capitol Clowns Association. Finally, it shows why no one in the political arena wants anything to do with this Texas organization.

How is that, you should ask: Every time CCA of Louisiana is asked about an accurate fact that sheds it in a bad light, it can never answer honestly, it lies, it fabrics falsehoods and then attacks the person asking the questions, and always it never answers the original question.

So, looking at your last post, what have you done:
1. CCA diddled me-Not true, I just don't like liars
2. Called me 80-I am 58, another one of your lies
3. Broken Record-I am only responding to your vast lies
4. Broken Man-Since you do not even know me, how can you allege such an insult,
5. You never once answered the truthful allegations made against CCA of Louisiaa-You cannot because those allegations are recorded in official court, congressional and legislative bureau records.

So, thanks so much for proving me right. Now, mom said it is getting late so you must get out the garage and go inside and do you choirs.

Jesum Petes.... Thanks for completely derailing this thread, which should have been a place to talk about the Pogie Issue.

If you want to make a CCA Thread - i am happy to join in as Motorboat knows i am not a loverboy of CCA.

However, I will give it to CCA - they are doing more than most organizations on this fight (within the last 6months).

Talk pogie or make another thread. FFS.

Jesus. This is why this state sucks. We can’t even agree on how to fight the problem without a bunch of people peacocking to see who’s gonna be more right.

CCA has done nothing but rhetoric the problem. I pay my dues every year. I’m not opposed to further catch restrictions and limits in theory but I’m damn for sure opposed while the pogey boats problem continues to be ignored. There are hundred of thousands of recreational license holders in this state. That should be a tremendous amount of influence if we’d only stop bullshite like this thread.

If y'all are not supporting Rep. Orgeron - he has always been leading the fight on this battle. These are just a few of the good.

Orgeron is doing a great job. This 22' contour bill is the actual correct way to regulate the menhaden industry because the most recent LGL bycatch study showed that at about 22' the bycatch of reds, trout, flounder, croaker, etc drops off dramatically.

This bill will probably never make it out of committee, but the demands to regulate the industry in the correct way still need to be made. And us as voters need to support the bills by calling your reps and senators.

Thanks for posting the link.

The House Natural Resources & Environment Committee already has a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in Committee Room 4, but the posted agenda currently lists other bills, not HB 855

What can you do? Please send email to the following committee members.

Rep. Brett Geymann - Committe Chair hse035@legis.la.gov

Rep. Joseph Orgeron - Vice Chair hse054@legis.la.gov

Rep. Kimberly Landry Coates hse073@legis.la.gov

Rep. Timothy Kerner hse084@legis.la.gov

Rep. Jeremy LaCombe hse018@legis.la.gov

I am writing to express my support for HB 855. I respectfully encourage the committee to move the bill forward

First, Last
Parish, State

@Motorboat - If possible, it would be helpful for CCA to notify members and encourage them to reach out to the committee to express their support for the bill. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Motorboat, the thread left sanity when you began your numerous lies, personal attacks and your refusal to answer any legit questions. But again, I thank you for proving all my points correctly.

FYI: Saturday morning there was a power breakfast in Baton Rouge with regards to strategies involving HB 855. Orgeron, as said before has and is still doing an excellent jog. Numerous political heavyweights were involved, including two from Washington. It looks like this bill has a chance, but everyone needs to get in touch with their respective elected officials.

Incidentally, seven different groups were invited to this meeting, but CCA of Louisiana was not one. In fact, when someone asked why that was so, one of the DC boys stated: "Do you want this bill to get killed in committee", this was met with numerous chuckles and a firm understanding what this statement met.

We are on it. HB855 is not being heard in committee until next week.

I am not a heavy hitter, so you may want to get Willy's help. He is big time as frick.

Motorboat, thanks again for proving my point about CCA of Louisiana and its blowhards.

And again, you lied. I never said anything about be being a heavy hitter, I am just honest and have gain credibility with elected officials, unlike your Cult.

For various reason, I am not at liberty to mentioned anyone invited to the breakfast. Anyone can easily ask their representatives about attendance. But I can assure you MFC and BGR are working in Washington very hard against this bill.

MFC is Menhaden Fisheries Coalition. Not sure on BRG.

Still amazed that our state legislature is allowing this industry to control our waters. Menhaden economic benefit pales in comparision to the recreational fishing economic benefit in this state. I guess since more money goes in their campaign funds from the MFC than the recreational fishing industy, they don't want to give up that personal benefit.

Seems like a distance is still better for enforcement. How is anyone going to tell if they are operating at that contour? Simple elimination or at least 1 mile is the answer. Still don't know why La, with one of the best fisheries in the world, can't figure this out. All our gulf neighbors have.

Commercial fishing vessels that are 65 feet or more in length are required to have an Automatic Identification System (AIS) installed and operational, according to U.S. regulations.

Louisiana has figured this out. It's to benefit the Menhaden Industry and certain politicians.
