I seriously hope that he put a fillet knife to that thing. Somebody needs to stick it to the corporate bass fishing world, and I think this man right here is just the guy to do it.

Prolly scaled it with a spoon then chopped it into steaks like a catfish.

When yall say private ponds, do you mean like all the bullshite private no tresspassing canals around crackerhead and all over the basin, or a true private pond with a gate that the lock was cut?

Because I aint ever seen anyone respect the crackerhead or basin private canals once in my life

Not saying it didn't happen, but that kid doesn't have the look of a guy that trespasses to fish intentionally. I'm not saying cause he's black, but because he's holding the fish like he's never caught a big fish before and doesn't look like a guy that fishes a ton.

No, I can't truthfully answer that question. I think a canal goes to them, I haven't been it to know if there are gates or completely land locked. I was sent a map with the ponds numbered.

I heard these ponds were stocked after Gustav.

I will say, if a canal leads to them and it isnt gated off and not land locked, I cant blame the guy.

Every fisherman I know, white, black, Hispanic, creole etc etc fishes the "private" canals around the verret, sorrel, pigeon area

If it doesn't have a gate and I want to fish it, I am in it.

What gets me is this guy is not claiming he caught a state record or anything. Hell, the marina didn't even have the guys name. He probably walked in there saying, "Hey, can y'all weigh this thing"? Yet, people are on his arse.

Yep.

Honestly, it is hard to fish the verret/pigeon/sorrel are and cash a damn fish at a place that doesnt have a private/no tresspassing sign nailed to the tree

Good for him it is a nice bass.
I caught a few 6lb to the largest was 8lbs 3 oz bass in the Sorrel/ Jack Millers area over a 40 yrs of fishing it off and on.
That guy did a lot better than I have done there.
That is a California Delta bass or Florida Bass.

I would assume unless they get a photo or video of him trespassing, shoe print in the mud they can cast, etc it would be hard to prosecute him if he did trespass. Hey, he is in Iberville Parish things work differently in that parish!

I agree if it is the pits at the end of Grand river by the levee, on the left behind the camps I guess I fished those before so lock me up and throw away the key.
