This video game fishing is basically unwatchable - FFS has ruined the sport, for the fans anyways.

80 pros out here basically using the exact same rod setup and lure.

bassmaster open is on okeechobee right now
scott martin had a 33 pound bag yesterday

local Logan Latuso was in 6th yesterday with 22 and change

ETA: figured I’d try to make this a fishing discussion as long as I could instead of the impending FFS pissing match it’s certainly going to turn into

What about it makes it unwatchable?

Clark Rheem is a Louisiana guy too. He's in 9th with 21-13.

The fact that we don't get to see different anglers using different techniques, setups, and search patterns - along with the commentary of their rationale.

That's how I feel about all the smallmouth dominated tournaments.

My hope is that this FFS crap causes enough of a rift that one of the organizations finally bans it , and makes sort of a retro league out of it.

It has absolutely ruined the anglers chances of winning whom do not use it…except for certain spring spawn tourneys. For this reason I despise it….

I turned it on when this thread was started. It makes me want to go get a small shad colored fluke on a little jig head and go cover water.

Ott D. was shallow yesterday and picked up a buzzbait super late in the day and caught 4 or 5 on it including a 5lb’er to push him to top 10 for Group A. He probably won’t make it to Championship round based on the FFS guys weights, but it was definitely fun to watch and see somebody doing something no one else was.

This time of year sorta dictates one or two patterns if you want to catch fish, I mean it's not exactly the time to be chunkin a buzz bait

The only good part of yesterday was when Ott hit the bank with a buzz bait. FFS makes for horrible entertainment.

I dedicated a whole 3700 to this stuff. I really like the Core Tackle stuff and Spunk Shads.

What jig head/hook do you like?

I remember Casey Ashley winning the classic a few years ago with a similar bait, but it had the under spin on the chin of the jig head.

THIS X 1000 - They've even started showing the screen like we can tell anything.

I stopped watching and I used to love watching MLF while working.

I did catch Otter smoking them on a buzzbait yesterday That was good stuff

It seems like all the newer, more precise electronics, whether FFS or something else, has given some of the guys a feeling of certainty that they can keep finding good numbers of fish because there was once a time that a guy with and 80 lb lead would have felt the need to ease back away from their prime areas to save some fish for day 5 or 6.
There’s been a few big fish caught already and apparently the areas in or just outside spawning areas are reloading daily. It’ll be interesting to see what happens tomorrow when weights go back to zero and some of the guys that are currently just inside the cut starts figuring them out.

One of the things I don't necessarily like about this years MLF format, is that there's no difference between the A/B group winners and the dude making the cut at 10th.

Group winners should earn a bye to the final day.

Also, the 10 anglers that make the knockout round but don't advance to the final day (11-20) take home the same $10,000 check as the two 40th place finishers.

What would a “retro” league allow?

As opposed to never coming off the water? What is the difference?

I thought that was pretty cool to be able to see what they are looking at.

Sounds to me like you don’t know how to use the new technology and you are just crying because you don’t understand it.
