It’s not in response to any one poster. It’s just a way of selecting the next window to reply, not necessarily in response to any previous reply.

Yall ought to know this.

The deer he killed was old. If he is such a good hunter why couldn't he kill it the two season before? Took him long enough.

my vote: Fred Bear who began archery hunting/shooting bows when he was 29 yrs old - 1933. Fred made his own bows, arrows, bow stings, flipper rest, broadheads, sights, nocks, and vanes/feathers. Was naturally right-handed but shot archery left-handed. He didn't need cover scent, trail cameras, or bows that shot 350 fps. Spent 20 years perfecting the first "take down" bow which totally changed the game for travelling with a compact riser and limbs. Began filming his archery hunts in 1942, and directly responsible for bow hunting season in many States. Harvested over 125 animal species in his 50+ years of bowhunting.

Ponder this: Fred primarily used 65# bows, and he had a 32" draw length (shooting LH as he was RH). He was in his early to mid 60's when he went shot the elephant (70# bow), male African lion, cape buffalo, and other dangerous big game species. He NEVER hunted with a compound bow.

Humans have been killing animals with bow and arrows for thousand years. 99% of that was for the purpose of living.

I doubt anybody in the last 75 years could carry the title of best bow hunter. If you want to say, most influential bow, hunter, then that’s another conversation.
