That's awesome, but I had something more like this in mind
You wanna stunt on em, bring the whole damn marina out with you and have a cocktail party on one end of the deck, fishing killin on the other end of the deck, and convert the crew hauling room into a ballroom and have a formal party in the AC. Back that thing up into the slip and unload the whole damn party at the scales.
God knew what he was doing when he made me poor. The world would be a worse place if I had money

I was a part of this conversion.....it all started in Houma and then was finished in Ft Lauderdale......the boat was purchased by a Sheik and he converted it and stretched it to a shark expedition vessel to travel the world
Originally built by US yard Swiftships and launched in 1997 as Candy Trader, her initial LOA was 63 metres when she first operated as a supply ship for commercial works. She was re-named HOS Trader in July 2003, when she was used as an offshore supply ship.

I mean if you have the money the 72’ Viking convertible will run you 40+ knots if you’re willing to push 85-90% engine load everywhere you go.
Not many center consoles are keeping up with you even the 40+ foot Freemans when it gets to be 3-4 footers and they sure as hell aren’t as dry and comfortable as you.
Those tournaments are hard on your body even in an 80’ boat fishing 3 straight days. Much less on a cc without Albert as much room to get out the sun or lay down for a nap or take a refreshing hot shower.
Look I get it the big center consoles can do everything those sportfishers do but if you actually have the money and I’m talking about actually have the money 50-100 mil plus. You’re getting a sportie eventually.

That's awesome.
I've always wondered why, with the surplus of commercial offshore supply boats sitting around, we don't see that more often. It's got to be cheaper to pimp an existing boat (within reason, not that way) than it is to buy a brand new superyacht. They're huge and ultra capable and have lots of deck and hold space that could relatively easily be converted to quarters.

Am I the only person that would have a big fast CC to fish if I had plenty of money?
No. Freeman can't build them fast enough.
As stated though, the sportfisher market is a different class than even the most expensive center consoles. $2.5M probably buys the biggest center console on the market. I'd have to look but I don't think you can get a brand new Cabo open cabin for that.

It's vv expensive bc of the thickness of steel that probably need to be replaced, overhauling engines, carpentry and gas freeing and cleaning tanks, plus most if not all of those boats have liquid mud tanks and P Tanks that either need to be cleaned or removed, updating electronics, DP systems, etc

Driving the boat is half the fun.
Those top of the line sportfishers can go 40+ in 4-6's, sleep 8-10, full kitchen, hot shower, etc.
Most of those guys if they have a house on the water, will have both.

True, but that average person isn't buying either boat.
Sure, but you think MJ knows the difference? He's entering a fishing tournament and not driving the boat or actually fishing.
I also wouldn't doubt Bayliss cut him a deal, MJ knows what he is doing business wise, and he has been "inadvertently" doing some serious promotion work for Bayliss. I've heard more about MJ's Bayliss than all the other owners combined. It wouldn't be the firs time a company has given a great deal on a product if the person just shows up with it at a certain number of events.

He's had a few boats now (3?) so he probably knows more about the differences than I do.....

Are the Guidry’s legit? Looking at Instagram, you could easily conclude they are billionaires.

Not sure what they have personally but Harvey gulf has been a fixture of the offshore supply boat business for a very long time.
They used to have a large tugboat fleet but I’m pretty sure it’s been sold off or at least spun off as a separate corporation.
