You know a brown dawg is not fully developed until they drive the boat

Sushi, she could probably make the run from the cove to the jump but when we hit the big muddy I have to take over. It took 2 years and 3 trainers to break her of her water-freaking. We are 1/2 way through her fourth actual hunting season and she has picked up well over 700 birds, with pretty much every hunt better then the last. The only time the freaking comes out now is when we hit a wave in the boat or she gets near a swimming pool. This is my first brown dog and she has lived up to all the good and bad I had heard about the breed before taking the leap with Rosie, and I wouldn't change a
minute.

Great thread. Some really beautiful dogs on here. I love a good, solid hunting dog

Tula - Scary intelligent Catahoula! She ran a squirrel up the light pole in our back yard and wasn't about to walk away from it!

My buddy Tracker. Better camp dog than hunting buddy.

My hunting buddy. Several years ago, he's now almost completely white in the face and has arthritis from chasing bunnies for too many miles.

Not much of a hunter unless it's the neighbor's barn cats. He does a lot of this and is the best dog I've owned.

Scares visitors, good for warmth... otherwise useless.
