I just got off the phone with my dad. He was duck hunting in Dulac at the southern edge of the Harry Bourg property with his dog. He said the dog was last seen in the marsh heading south chasing a cripple. The dog is about a 50lb male black lab named chase. He has a shock collar and an orange collar on with my fathers info. They have been looking for him all morning. If any of you guys are in the area please be in the lookout.

If possible get someone with a drone or go buy one and start searching from the last point seen.

I do not know the area, but if there are public launches near then make sure you have it plastered with signs for tomorrow morning when it gets busy. Maybe even pass them out to boat's launching.

I've heard a lot of good stories about missing dogs being found by local fisherman, hunters, etc. Keep the search up and don't lose hope.

This doesn't make it any easier, but a few years ago, a guy lost his dog on the same property, and after almost a week, he was found all the way by Jugs Marina in Dularge.

I hunt just south of the southern edge around the Bayou Sauveur/pipeline canal area. I'll keep an eye out tommorow if he isn't found today

Long shot but is there any helo traffic over this area? Might be worth a shot to find someone with connections to the local operations base that would keep their eye out while flying over the area.
Good Luck
PS, dog i trained was MIA for a week at Little Prairie before being found. The further from the roads the better shot you'll have getting him home and not stolen or run over.

They looked all morning with no luck, fella he was with had to get back to BR. Will be back tomorrow looking. This is so unusual for the dog. He would always give up after awhile if he couldn’t get the bird. Thanks guys, keep your eyes open if you in the area.

I'm heading down after work to our camp on four point rd in Dulac. Not sure if the section of Harry Bourg's property that runs along four point is close to where he was hunting or not but I'll keep an eye out.

Had an aquaintance who lost his dog a couple years ago. He had to abandon the search a few times and start back up when he could get off work. The dog was missing during the coldest weather we had all year, well below freezing for 3 days straight. Dog was found a week later and in good condition. They are resilient animals.

A quick search shows a Facebook Drone Club of LA with a few thousand people. Certainly worth a try.

Good luck.
