Longest (time wise) you’re willing to travel to make a day (fishing) trip?

Do 3 hour each way day trips pretty frequently. Its starting to get a little rough but we do it.

When I was younger, I'd have no problem doing a 3-4 hour one way trip to get in some fly fishing in AR and have done an almost 5 hr one way.
As I've gotten older, I'm not quite as angry at them to do that now.

3 hours is pushing it. Generally won't fish Venice unless we are staying the night at the camp. Those suicide trips just aren't worth it anymore.

3 hours is the max I’ll drive for a day and only to 2 locations: Venice or GI

Driving and pulling a boat? About 5 hours.
Driving only and going on someone one else's boat? 8-10 hours.
Flying? Probably a 8-10 hour, with connections, or so flight one way.
I have flown from Atlanta to SLC and drove to Idaho Falls several times to float the Snake River with him. Usually make it 3 or more day trip but I have done it several times where I left Atlanta in the evening, got to SLC around midnight, drove to Swan Valley, fished, drove back to SLC and flew back to Atlanta. Did it once from Albuquerque also. I'd book a flight right now to fish the Green River in Utah for one day.
I had a boat in Stuart Florida for years and would fly down for the day and fished. I did that 10 or so times a year for nearly 14 years. When opportunity presents itself you got to take advantage.

10 years ago I'd drive 1-3 hours to bass fish every weekend without blinking. Now? I rarely go fishing. I'm getting the same way with hunting. I'll make 1 2-3 week travel trip and other than a weekend or two the rest is easy hunts around the house. I enjoy sleeping in now.

1.5 or less is perfect IMHO.
Driving 3 hours each way and then cleaning salt of the boat is not worth it to me.

Its a short list of people who ill bring on those trips. Its a full days work for sure. Leave the house at 0300 and get home around 1600 usually.

I’ll do it to places if it’s absolutely worth it.
Ask me if I’ll make a 3 hour day trip to Venice to fish or Cameron to fish.
Venice any time and without question

I know there will be a day in my future when I stop the single day trips (2.5hr drive/each way)….doing everything I can to keep doing them and keep the old man out of the room in my mid-50s
