Thinking about finally springing for a Liberty safe in the coming months when I get into my new house. What's the general consensus on the Liberty offerings? I'm looking at the Colonial 30 fwiw.

I love my Fatboy. I hate that they didn't have the same warranty as my dad's Cannon.
Dad's cannon got flooded, brand new safe. I was transferred to sales so that I could buy new carpet and sheetrock.

I got the Liberty Centurion 24 from Lowes I think on a heck of a deal.
I am sure it isn't the best safe, but I have enjoyed it. I have 14 long guns in it, that is about the capacity. I could prob get 4-5 more in there, but damn it would suck getting them in and out.
I got the dial lock, I hate it, on an early morning it can be tiresome as all hell to spin that damn dial. So, I would get the keypad if I got another.
Don't know much about safes, but it is pretty heavy, I have it against an outside wall to help with fire protection if needed.
I know the safe experts will pick it apart, but for me I wanted something to be affordable, appropriately sized and keep my guns from my kids and their friends. I think it works for that, I am sure a professional thief could be in it in minutes, but I have insurance for that.

Your local Liberty dealer will sell you a new safe to replace the flooded one at 25% below dealer cost. Not as good as Cannon, but is a substantial savings, like 50% off retail.

I went with the 64 gun in the Colonial and wish I would have went with the Franklin or the Lincoln. The Colonial interior is not as nice and the size and amount of bolts kinda scare me. It would take an experienced theif like 2 minutes to break into that model with a pry bar. My brother bought a safe about the same price as my liberty with more bolts and bigger bolts for the same price or less than what I paid.

All the people saying to get one size bigger, listen to them, they are wise

I have a Lincoln with the digital lock and I love it. I also have a national classic that I really like well.

I have a Liberty D 23. Started with the manual dial. Hated it and put an electronic keypad on it.
The bottom of the lineS&G keypad failed. They sent a locksmith and emailed a diagram on where to drill. Took him the better part of two days to get in.
S&G did all that and replaced the dial under warranty. I upgraded to a better keypad, and it's worked great for many years.
Despite that one hassle, I would get a keypad every time. So much faster, and we use ours daily.
Get one as big as you have room for and can afford. You will fill it eventually. Even if your guns won't fill it now, you can use it for other valuables, important papers, etc.

A thief won't mess with the door and all those bolts. He will get a disk grinder from Harbor Freight for $10 and be inside any of those safes in less than 10 minutes.

Great. In 10 minutes, the cops will be there due the alarm system going off.

I bought the Fatboy Jr last year around Christmas, advertised as a 48, it will hold about half of that. Unless you have a large collection of scopeless single shot break action guns, that you plan to keep in there you won't be able fit that many.
They offered an upgraded finish so it looks a little better than the one they show on he website. Overall, I have mine in my office, I'm not worried how other people think it looks from the outside and it does what it's intended to do, keep the kid out of them, and keep the honest people honest.
Lock, it's a personal preference I can get into my safe with the traditional dial lock in less than 5 seconds

Just Ordered the Liberty Revere 23 on sale at Mike Wards. Very nice safe for the money. Know several people that have the liberty safe and are happy.
