Yeah, I just wish it wasn't so expensive.
If only Colt still made the Python. The GOAT revolver, regardless of what Revolver Ocelot says.

I'd take a pin and recessed Smith-Wesson Model 19 or 66 over the Python. Whether it be the blued or nickel finish of the 19 or the stainless of the 66, they were gorgeous.
To my way of looking at things, they were better looking than the Python. The full lug look just doesn't appeal to me.
And if I wanted a real sure enough warhorse to use a lot and pass down, I'd go with a Ruger Security Six over either the Smith or Colt.

Used 28-2 for Smith's .357 workhorse. Maybe the 686 too.

Morning guys. I'm looking to buy a new gun for ECC. I've been looking at the S&W M&P Shield and the Glock 43 or 26. Looking for opinions or even other suggestions. Thank you

My dad has two Colt Pythons both 4 Inch barrels and blued finish. One has been promised to me and one to my brother, but I would rather have my dad for as long as possible. He still has the receipts in the box from when he bought them when he was a police officer in the 70's.

I have a Shield 9mm Performance Center and I have been happy with it. I cannot speak to the Glocks because I have not owned one but Glock makes a great gun, just not my cup of tea. The Shield 2.0 has a better trigger than the 1.0's. My uncles 2.0 trigger is even better than my 1.0 PC model.

I’m really digging the Sig P365 right now. Shoots extremely well and the stock sights are very nice.

I have a Glock 19 and love it, but it is just too big for me for EDC. I hear great things about the Shield and see I can get the 1.0 for $250 new compared to double that for the 2.0 or glocks.

Older guy here, but have been shooting pretty much my entire
adult life. However, I'm a fairly new CWP holder and have
looked at and tried several handguns to decide which would
be the ideal Carry gun for me personally. I'm fortunate enough
to have a really good next door neighbor who is an army
vet and sharp shooter, and has a nice little arsenal of
weapons. He and I have been going to the range a lot and I've
had a chance to try out a wide range of calibers and size
of guns over the past 4-5 years. I owned an older KAHR
brand ( E9 ) that I bought back in the mid 90s. It has
been a very reliable gun and still fires very nicely with
no loss of accuracy after several thousand rounds through
it. But after shooting a lot of other guns recently, I
had fallen in love with the M&P Shield 9MM. I said when
I did get my CWP, that would be the gun that I want as
my EDC. Over the years, I've also purchased a CZ P07 9MM
and Kimber Micro .380. I got my CWP just over a year ago
and I finally decided two weeks back to make the change
from my Kahr E9 to the M&P Shield. Since I bought it, I've
put about 250-300 rounds through it, and it has lived up
to my expectations. REALLY nice feel, and very accurate
weapon. For my personal choice, it was the right move.

Anyone own a 19x? I've been thinking about grabbing one, but wondering if anyone had any thoughts on them?

Cant comment on that, but I played around with a gen 5 19 that had the sig xray sights on it and that's probably the best all around plastic gun I've ever put my hands on
Eta: the sig xray sights (which are sig branded trijicon sights of some type) are a necessity on a defense handgun IMO. Now that I've had a gun with them I cant go back. They are spectacular.

Target shooting and you are going to be reloading that 6 shooter a lot more than the Glock w/ extra mags.
I usually take both to the range. When I leave the house, with the mags all loaded, to go shoot, it looks like I'm looking for trouble.

I bought a G 45, which is basically the 19x in black without the lanyard. I enjoyed shooting the gun when I first got it. Fits in my hand well and shoots great. However, since I bought the Xcarry by Sig Sauer, the Glock sits in the case. The Sig is much better IMO. It just fits in my hand perfectly.
