Went run the boat at the bell city drain ditch. Fished for about 90 mins. Caught one choupique. Ran about 20 miles though. Itd been 6 or so months since the motor has gotten any work. Ran great.

Does anyone know how long the drawdown in Henderson is supposed to last? I need to go take my kayak to them pits while it’s down. Like fish in a barrel right there.
A couple of weeks ago I took my son fishing. He was begging me to go. But his motivation was he wanted to make a YouTube video with me. That kid has an obsession with “youtubers”.
But hey, whatever gets him into fishing. So I took him to Little Alabama and set him up with a wacky worm. We caught enough for dinner. After about an hour and a half he just wanted to eat snacks and watch me fish. It’s a start.

We were supposed to head out there that same weekend, but some things came up.

I saw that. Pretty sure he didn't have a scale and guessed the weight. It looked a little skinny. Still a decent fish.
ETA: That's another place I haven't been all year.

I don’t know but it seems like October/November they usually start raising it again? About a month ago it was falling hard and I happened to get lucky with the timing. It since came back up and dropped even lower.

So I finally got over to Two O'clock this morning. I was worried that with the cool front, full moon, and clear skies that it would turn out to be just a leisurely paddle. But I actually found a few fish. Every single one was caught super shallow in the boscoyos.

Hell of a trip. did you paddle all the way to close lake? I doubt I'll be getting to fish there until spring with hunting season being in.

I actually caught most of them just past the train tracks. Never even made it to Cowan Bay. The closer I got to Cowan, the nastier the water got. The water was beautiful closer to the train tracks.

Man, this was a great thread with lots of good info. I'm taking my kayak out to Half Moon Bayou tomorrow. I was looking through my fishing photos and realized I haven't been there since 2018.
Anyone been to Half Moon recently? Is it still $3 to launch? Fishing been ok?

I miss the Marsh Minnow. Caught two of my biggest fish in that boat.
