Holy crap I’m fricking pumped!

He’s down about 160 yards away. I’ve never been this excited after shooting a deer. He’s not my biggest but he was on a doe and I laid down in the brush and waited for my shot.

The biggest buck I have ever killed was made possible after I hopped out of the box stand. A volunteer cedar tree was in between us and used it as cover. It make the shot go from 300+ yards to about 250. He’s in my office hanging over the desk.

I’m working on it. He’s not a monster but damn the hunt was awesome and I passed on him last year. Haven’t gotten a single pic of him this year or seen him so he moved on to another property and I figured he got shot.

Congrats

Were you on the stand and got down or what? You belly crawled to within 160 yds?

It's the stalk that makes it so much better. Gets your inner predator boiling. Heart pounding out of your chest, every little twig crunch sounds like a car crash. I get more excitement stalking up on pigs with my bow than I ever have shooting deer out of a window.

I shot him with my Falkor .300 win mag

I was actually hunting Nilgai because we are covered up with them and passed on 4 bulls and a cow waiting for a mature bull.
