re: Judge rules that major portions of the National Firearms Act are unconstitutional

quote:Yeah, I'm in the "overwhelm the system" camp too. The NFA is clearly unconsitutional, and everyone remotely familiar with 2A jurisprudence knows it.
I appreciate the risk aversion. Personally I'm going rogue and forcing the issue. My PSA pistols became SBRs this week. I sense a white flag posture from big brother. Not sure enforcement is a priority anymore.
I own analogs to current standard issue infantry rifles (11.5" and 14.5" versions with suppressors), just like US citizens have since the country's founding. The "pistol brace" was a tacit acknowledgement by the ATF that the NFA definitions are obsolete. The $0 tax is yet another from Congress.
The ATF is processing a half million Form 4s every quarter now. The toothpaste isn't going back in the tube here.

A head's up to those who will wait and see...
I'm getting emails now with price drops on braces. The SB Tactical braces are all down in the 60s now. Probably best price unless you buy a clone off ebay (look for "bike handles"
).
I'd say things like that are shops getting ready for the swap, move the braces while there's still some demand.
All honesty, an SB3 or SB4 is as good as a basic adjustable stock.

More clarification, think this is in line with how I've read the ruling. Being a member of an organization party to this ruling is important.

Definitely, especially as clarifications come out on a nearly daily basis. I'm waiting for more clarification on the engraving requirements for NFA items but I'm reasonably sure that if the registration requirement is dead then so is that part.

Waiting on a QD end plate now, figure I may as well while everything loose.

PSA is showing suppressors at $1,000 +, hard sell for me at those #’s.

Demand must be through the roof right now, I expect it will be months of high prices.

I don’t think prices are coming down any time soon

Yeah, and think twice before ordering from Silencer Shop right now. I ordered one about 3 hours after midnight on the 13th and they keep sending me emails that they need more information on my account. This is the 3rd can I have purchased from them (2nd this year)..my account hasn’t changed and everything is up to date. I can’t get a callback from them after several attempts. They have my money and a suppressor serial number assigned to me.
Frustrating to say the least. If I get this one anytime soon, that’ll be my last from them.

I think prices will plummet as soon as all the other retailers and FFLs get word they can start selling and processing cans on BGs only.
Their are also probably dozens of companies ready to let the printers rip once this thing finally happens across the board.

Yep reminds me of the boom in the AR market when the awb expired. Market flooded with new offerings and prices dropped substantially

I spoke to an FFL (emails actually), a guy who owns a couple shops. Been doing business with them for over a decade now.
He said they're still doing business as they did before the ruling. Said there's a lot of big internet talk from silencershop online, but they (silencershop) is still requiring form 3's to send them anything right now.

Prices won’t “plummet” until supply catches up with demand, and demand is going to increase even more when we don’t have to go through the ATF hoops

Right. That's why my post was about the rapid and exponential increase in supply.

Hoping the atf releases some tidbit of guidance soon the suspense is killing me.

A $1200 Huxwrx suppressor will continue to be $1200.
Does the price of eggs/milk go down when inflation goes down?

I'm right there with you but don't expect anything fast. I'm still waiting on tax guidance from OBBB.

I'm sure their lawyers will be taking their time trying to figure out the boundary terms of this decision, they still have until mid-October to appeal too. The silence isn't helping their case either, more and more people are simply going to join GOA and go ahead with companies already transferring suppressors on 4473's alone. It will be interesting to see how the NCIS numbers for August and September look compared to historical averages.

I see $200 cans popping up all over the place already. Not sure yall are understanding what I'm saying. The premiums will still be priced as premiums. When a massive barrier to entry is eliminated, by the nature of basic economics, more competition will enter the market and apply downward pricing pressure.
