Japanese maples
Im hoping to start seeding some (i know i wont get exact match to cultivars) but if any of you have fireglow, glowing embers, or aureum, autumn moon or pretty much any other japanese maples, im hoping to get some of the seeds from the trees. Ill pay for at least shipping or for seeds as well.

You can find them online. Amazon has them too.

I have tried planting seeds from mine several times and I cannot get them to germinate.

re: Japanese maples
I have a green japanese maple in front of my house that is the largest I have ever seen. I think it likes being shaded by the neighboring oaks.

Did you leave them in the fridge or a cold place to simulate the stratification process first?

I have fireglow, aureum, and autumn moon. Never had any luck getting them to grow from seeds.

I have a bloodgood if you want some. When does it seed? I just got it planted last year.

Japanese Maples rarely survive in Baton Rouge. The heat and humidity of summer chokes them. Beautiful trees though.

That's false. There are quite a few cultivars that will survive in southern Louisiana. Just go to Rip Van Winkle Gardens for evidence. There is also a large amount in Hammond. The most beautiful specimen in BR is at Burden just outside the rural life museum.

The problem is that many people plant them in the wrong spots. You do have to be more careful with location in the deep south.

And don't buy the ones from big box stores.

Mine gets sun till about noon in the summer. It gets more shade in the winter due to the lower angle of the sun. Just planted it last year so this is the first summer. Seems to be doing good so far.
