Horrible storm just rolled through. 60-70 mph winds with sideways rain .
Drinking coffee and glad I’m not in the woods.
Y’all be safe.

Bay Springs, MS. Calm before this storm. I’ve seen 2 does and a 3 point.

South Texas

Got a nice 10 pushing 140, young 9 that should be a stud in a few years and a big 8 point that lost an eye during the rut.

Have a little spike fighting with a 4 point in front of me. Spike has a lot of white on the back of his neck. He’s going to be real easy to track as he grows.

The thunderstorm just passed here, a light drizzle now. I could shoot ducks in the front yard, 2” of sheet water near the road.

I might get back out Monday and then at least once next weekend to close out our season here.

Didn't see jack yesterday except 2 on the way home. Solunar tables...I don't make decisions based on them, but I find it interesting. Yesterday was the nadir 1 star movement day, nothing seemed to move. Next weekend is the ballin superstar set of days...we'll see.

Sat from 8:30 to 11. Saw doe and yearling. Moved a tripod to get on a buck coming into a field.

Son’s dorm flooded from sprinkler pipe last weekend at La Tech while he’s home for Christmas. They just informed us yesterday so we made a trip up here to make sure all his stuff was alright. All is good. So I’m making the best of the trip.

Simsboro, La
.270 on a pipeline
Around 65° and dead calm as of now
Put doe urine out in both directions on pipeline and got some on my hand. Damn this stuff stinks!
Food plot survived the freeze, but it’s looking rough.

Tensas, box stand on river. Food plot stinks with rotting vegetation. Been here since rain stopped and nothing has moved. Have the rut even started?

Old 7’ homemade lean stand with 4x4 platform that used to be a makeshift box stand. Brushed like we’re in the duck blind. Got an 8 coming out at 530 yesterday, walked to food plot in front, then coming back in the same spot at 330 this morning. Hopefully he comes a tad earlier today so we can get our first on the year.
