Kinda foggy and 54 degrees
Bank of west fork Thompson Creek
Ground blind
30-06

Someone just north of me across the Ms line couldn’t wait on daylight. Heard 3 rifle shots at 5:40. Followed by 4 pistol shots 20 min later.

Deer have pretty much shut down in the last week. Last week I was seeing 10+ a hunt and multiple rack bucks. Now I’m lucky to see a doe and fawn. Scrape activity has picked up along with smaller rubs. Guess the bachelor groups have finally broke up and starting to transition towards pre rut

Bow stand on white oak laden ridge with corn feeder
54* slight fog, East 3
Bear Domain

Concur w/ Felicianatigerfan, seems like deer have shut down last few days compared to earlier in the week. Seeing a few does and an occasional 1.5 yo ratchet buck. Was seeing half a dozen or more at feeder every hunt. Sharp increase in surrounding pressure over last two days prolly contributes to skittish behavior.

Game day, Geaux Tigers!

I noticed the same thing on my cameras and while on stand the past week since season started. Pressure shut em down for now it seems.

Mini me just sent lead down range at a good buck. Bigger than anything I’ve ever killed. It kicked hard straight up in the air and stumbled into the woods.

This would be his first deer. He was shaking crying and laughing all at the same time.
