35 whelen
Climber over some big thickets
Saw a 6 point 2 days ago and a couple spikes and a doe yesterday. Looking for at least an 8 point.
Wore my STORMR brand neoprene socks for the first time today and my left toes are squished together pretty bad. Really uncomfortable but at least they’re warm. Hopefully I shoot one quick so I can come out of these damn socks.

Wind gusting 20+ mph right now. Forecast has changed for this afternoon. Looks like wind speed will only drop 1-3 mph before sunset. If it’ll get down to just 11-13 mph I’ll be thrilled but it’s humping it right now.

Any of you baws taking tomorrow off to hunt? Will be a good one

Box stand over petite food plot amongst hardwoods.
“Feels like 23”
wind NNW 14
30-30

Got a heater buddy for Christmas, have it with me but not using it. Skeptical about it spooking deer. Wind is perfect for this stand.
Aside from “weak b*tch, True OB’ers don’t use heaters” comments that will surely follow, anybody use one? Does it spook the herd?

Good luck OB!

Got to my stand a little late this morning. After 8 hours in a tree with that wind yesterday I wasn’t getting here until shooting light. Coffee took a little longer to bre than I hoped.

W.Feliciana / Wilkinson Co line
35 degrees
8mph winds vhf Ferguson are still high in the tree tops so not bad on ground level
Rem 700 .280
(Decided to ditch the 06. It has better glass but feel like I get a better trigger pull with this one)
Platform 25’ up on old Wilkinson Co rail line. Watching about 300 yards of wood line filled with scrapes

Shout out to my sponsors

Also due to a binding endorsement contract that stipulates I mention PowerAde. I just wanna say that PowerAde is delicious and it cools you off on a hot summer day and we look forward to PowerAde's release of mystic mountain blueberry.

Just had a doe run out of cutover and bolted across the plot. Hopefully some horns come through soon and it wasn't just the wind spooking her

Killed a shrinking 8 at last light on Friday and a doe yesterday. At the house now. About to start cooking for the Saints game. Big guns are done for another year. Hope y’all kill a big one. Saw a 160” 10 pt from Waterproof in the Instagram. Huge.

I had one for about 15 years that broke last year. Never noticed buddy spooking any deer. That thing was great. Got a new one this year for Christmas but haven’t used yet because I keep leaving it at home and it’s been mild since Christmas and haven’t even thought about it.

They’re awesome to have on a bone chilling, windy cold day

Loved my heaters last year especially during snow days. I noticed it spoiled me though. I started passing good stands on 30-35 degree mornings so I could sit in an enclosed one with a heater.

That heater won’t bother a thing and it’ll keep you on stand longer.
