Coyote. Low camera angle makes it look taller. Coloration is key.

I don't believe it either. Both the Feds and the State of LA say they have none anywhere but eastern NC. Before they became extirpated* in LA, they bred with yotes and passed on some of their genetics including the markings and increased size. So it just an Eastern Coyote with a few red wolf traits.

So what do all of the doubters need to be convinced? Usually doubters say why no pics? Now there are pics and still doubters. If I shoot it, get dna evidence and go to jail for life for killing an endangered species, will you believe it?

Not a pure bred yote. I woulda shot it and done some DNA test to determine which one of my neighbors's german shep donkey punched a yote.

ok well actually the message he sent me back was "I'll show this to our biologist" and then he responded with telling me about the breeding facility and re releasing of them in NC.
