Is the Yet Bucket a joke?

I see this $40 bucket, looks kinda like a $3 Home Depot bucket with a Yeti logo.
Now I'm not buying one for myself, its for customers and would look cool in their trucks, so the reasoning is a bit different.
But what does this miracle bucket do for the extra $37 and is it at least made in USA?

The sticker is $40. The bucket comes free.

Sooooo, you bought one?
How does a bucket “look cool” in the back of a truck?

got bucket + lid on fathers day. Would have never bought it for myself, but now that I have it, I like it. It's 6 gallons, the lid is a reinforced honeycomb of lexan 1" thick with a rubber seal. It can hold in liquid if its tipped over with the lid. The bucket and lid are reinforced enough where you can stand on it. Bucket wall is thicker plastic than normal. The handle is mesh "tow-strap" material instead of a wire; there's tie-down slots on the rim. It's pretty damn good bucket. I also have the $5 bucket from the hardware store. they both hold things, the yeti does it better.
Its like the $600 dollar 30-06 or the $1500 30-06. They both go bang, they both use the same bullet, the deer cant tell the difference. But they sell a shite load of both.

I’ll get downvoted to hell for this but here we go. I have two Yeti buckets and I love them. As a hobby I got into detailing on my personal vehicles and ended up breaking the cheaper Lowe’s buckets over and over again. I received one as a gift and purchased the other.
With all the gear I carry when detailing the utility gear belt accessory was an added bonus.

I just don’t see it that way. I’d be proud to own a $1500 rifle. I’d be ashamed to own a $40 bucket.

No ashamed when it is a gift. hardly anyone buys them for themselves.

They are legit. We were offshore fishing and had one up on the bow to keep bait close while we were fishing for groves. Probably 3'-4's and that thing didn't even think of moving. It also doesn't need water to stay up right when moving spots.

like I said, never would have bought it for myself, but I like it. It's been used for every imaginable purpose all summer at our camp, hunting lease, etc. The $5 bucket would have cracked and the handle fell off by now.

All the guys at the duck camp have Yeti buckets and they are very functional as a shell bucket/seat.

I have one with the organizer and lid. It takes fishing off the side of the road to a new level. Given to me as a gift and would never have spent my money on it. That being said it’s pretty damn nice for that type of fishing

I much prefer the home depot bucket. That way when I put nasty shite in it, I can just throw it in the burn pit when it's unusable.
I'm really not sure what I'd use a yeti bucket for. It's too expensive to actually use.

I know a few who admitted to buying theirs but they are far outnumbered by the "it was a gift" crowd

A really good one. They figured out rednecks will make a dick measuring contest out of anything imaginable.

I cant keep up with free 5 gallon buckets from around the shop...and lets face it, sometimes you just gotta throw one away cause you left the fish heads in a touch longer than you shoulda

Used 1 this past weekend to shite in while tuna fishing. You can sit on them and don’t worry about them cracking or leaking.
Used another to wash down.
Worth it for those purposes but not for home use.
