Inspection sticker peeling

I figured you outdoor baws would have a solution to this. I guess from using sun shades and just pure summer heat, the Louisiana inspection stickers start to peel off. Is there a tape or glue that would protect from it peeling that is also easy to remove when needed?

I had one of the defective ones that peeled pretty bad. Rick Breen’s in the Mecca replaced it no charge. They will put the same expiration date on it though.

Clear packing tape is what I put on mine.

Either tape it or bring it back to where to you got it inspected.

They will just tape it. It's not like they can give you a new sticker without charging you.

Sure am glad to hear it called an "inspection sticker".

They will indeed replace it (with same expiration date) at no charge. There was a documented defective batch.

A bad batch of stickers produced by the state’s Motor Vehicle Inspection offices has not been able to take the heat—literally. The LA State Police have noticed an outsize number of peeling or damaged inspection stickers in the past few weeks, saying the warm Louisiana air has wilted the affected notifications right off their windshields. The bad batch of stickers was used to decorate cars that passed the state inspection several months ago, and anyone finding this problem with their vehicles will be eligible for a free replacement inspection sticker from any Motor Vehicle Inspection station in the state or at an LA State Police office, the state agency said. While the Louisiana troopers have said that peeling stickers are still considered valid, they recommended the replacement stickers, as they are easier for most officers to see. The State Police also advised residents against attempting to fix a bad sticker with glue, tape, or any other adhesive. Any motorist unable to replace his or her sticker at their local Motor Vehicle Inspection station can contact the Department of Public Safety MVI unit at (225) 925-6113 ext. 205.

Seems like a common problem these days.

I use Sticker Shield for a parking sticker that I can transfer between vehicles. Works great and would probably work for a LA inspection sticker. Got it from Amazon.

Pretty much any clear silicone glue works too.
I did it a couple times. Once when it was just peeling from top left corner. Once when it was 3 corners peeling.
The 3 corners was rough though, shoulda done it in stages to get a good stick using the silicone. But it stuck enough to last the 2 years.
The glue is like $1 at any Wally World or Dollar Store.
Be sure to use silicone glue and not super glue though. The silicone is easier for the next sticker person to scrape off with their blade.

As someone who lives in MS, I don't know what this is.

Bad batch. I literally went 2 weeks ago to get mine replaced. It was not attached at all. They replace it with brand new sticker with original expiration date free of charge if and only if you still have the original paper that fell off. They send the originals back to the state.
