2 weeks ago i went hunting. I ended up crapping water for 2 weeks (thought it was ibs acting up so was waiting for it to pass, ended up being giardia), red bugs all over my sack, and poison ivy on every part of my body including my shaft and all over my face. I've been miserable. I got a couple of shots and some cream but I cant put the cream on my sack because it will change the color of it plus make the skin thin (according to the doc).

I know I will be back in the woods this weekend but damn, this is rough LOL.

keep rubbing the poison ivy all over you...you'll become immune.

Are you just completely lacking in common sense and spacial awareness? All of that could have been prevented

Sounds like you sat naked on a rotten log full of chiggers, and then jerked off with the juice from a poison ivy vine. I am actually surprised you're not dead.

Seriously: I had this employee from New Zealand many years ago. And he had zero exposure to poison ivy growing up. Had not built up any immunity to it. First thing he did when he got here was bought an old crappy house with an overgrown backyard. Spent the first weekend pulling vines off the fence row.

By Monday he was in the hospital. But Tuesday he was in intensive care. He nearly died. He had it in his lungs. The reaction was so bad he almost had to get skin grafts. He has scars to this day.

TLDR: Could have been worse.

Can I ask, why were you putting poison ivy on your shaft?

Damn devil weed. I can't go into the woods and not get it, no matter how much I pay attention.

I was close to this after cutting vines off a fence with a weedeater. Turned out to be poison ivy. Face swole up, hands, nutts. Several shots alcohol in bathwater and every type of cream in north america.

Can't believe no one else has asked about the giardia, which is the worst part by far.

Was this diagnosed? Were you drinking from streams?

My 12yo daughter went on a school sponsored canoe trip on the MS River last fall. They camped on a sandbar and she swam and played in the water.

She got giardia and it was like a 2 or 3 month situation. She went from like 70 pounds to like 65 pounds. And she was already skinny as a rail. I think the trip was in September and it was basically Christmas before she was feeling better.

Some people struggle with it for a long time, it can be truly tragic. Glad your daughter recovered.

Stop jerking off in the stand. Poison ivy oil only affects areas it’s spread to by touch.

Lmao! No shite, huh? Just sounds like someone who wasn't paying attention in the woods.

OP, maybe you shouldn't go hunting again. That shite sucks.

You know naked and afraid is just a tv show, right? You can wear clothes in the woods and bring water and shite with you.

Yeah, don't drink from the creek. I usually take a bottle of water and 24 beers with me.

Only tree to climb was covered in poison ivy. It was a good spot so I said f it. I took forgot and took a piss later. Ended up shooting a deer and had a long recovery so I was wearing the poison ivy clothes for about 6 hours and sweating in them.

I'm to the point that I take like 3 showers a day at the camp and constantly change clothes.
