lol it's pretty fascinating. I guess the only way to have a remotely similar experience would be to go up to Alaska. Reading this book has me kind of bummed that everywhere I hunt human activity is a big influence. On opening day last year I was hunting in north mississippi. There was a crackhead commune about 300 yards from where I was hunting. They had that "body like a back road" song on repeat, loud AF. I had to listen to that shite for 4 hours. I ended up killing a doe but damn....you can't hardly get away from people down here. I plan on doing a wilderness elk hunt in the next couple of years so hopefully that gets me away from folks.
