Opening day of rifle season.

Got in stand before first light, buddy shows up late after first light gets to his stand and doe is out in plot. Bear crawls down and takes a shot misses her. 45 min later he has a big 8 walk out. Shoots 3 times and wounds him. Calls me over to help "finish" him so I get down and go to his stand. Buck is down in plot not moving, I pick up a stick and throw it at buck and he gets up and tears off through the woods. Never found again. So my morning has been screwed up and he's seen 5 with zero kills. I don't feel too bad, he lost his biggest deer ever

I'm trying to picture what this, and the reactions that followed, looked like.

Neighbor just turned his hounds loose on my land. This answers so many questions.

It was pretty damn funny. I kept telling him he was dead and had bled out. He had been laying 45 min. He kept saying "no, he's still alive" that's when I threw the stick and we both realized he was in fact alive. He took off, of course my dumb arse throws up my rifle and fire a shot at a buck running full bore through a thicket. So I of course also wasted a bullet.

It was however eventful.
