Exactly what Ill be doing, probably never alone. Just have a 7 year old that needs to get outdoors.

Thanks for the info, been searching for a boat but was looking for bigger stuff.

I fish alone 90% of the time. An 18' aluminum bass boat is a cinch to launch by yourself. On an empty ramp I can be launched tied and parked in 5 minutes if I don't have to walk far.

How do you typically launch solo? Just keep the winch attached with some slack in the line?

I just tie my bow line to the my truck or winch post. Buy my son who is 6 is really into fishing so he's been coming and has gotten good at holding the rope.

I found my 17' alweld last year on FB marketplace for $11k. It wasn't what I was originally looking for, but with what boats were going for at the time I jumped on it. It has served me well fishing in the marsh.

I always enjoy the amazed looks when people watch me launch a 25 ft speed boat solo faster than someone next to me with a fishing boat and 3 people to do it. I take the winch loose and know exactly where to back it where it won’t float off and just takes a slight push as I jump in. Dock it, jog to truck and pull trailer out. Takes 3 min tops

I’ll trailer it alone too. Dock it, back up trailer, get in boat and drive it up on the trailer, leave prop in gear so it don’t roll back, walk to front of boat and hang over the front and connect the winch, tighten and lock it. Kill engine, hop out and get in the truck and drive off

Yep, slack in winch line, unhook it as I climb in, get boat to dock, tie up go back to truck.
Everything is loaded and ready to go except for me when the boat gets backed down the ramp. That way its streamlined and I can go park the truck and not have anything to get while the boat sits at the dock unattended.
Like Delta, I know EXACTLY where the water need to come up to on my trailer to get it on and off with minimal effort while still not allowing it to completely float on its own.

Buy from a private individual and not a dealership. Save on taxes.
