That has been my line of thinking as well. I like to have plenty rounds to practice with but if I get in a situation where I have to shoot more than a hundred rounds for defense I’m fricked anyway.

I think people should absolutely be able to buy all the ammo they want

However, I do think people that have the propensity to buy 1,000s of rounds seem to be strange birds Also, I think the optics of people buying 1,000s of rounds put fear in people who arent familiar with guns and are on the fence on gun rights issues

Just my thoughts

You dont have to get emotional. Just saying I think that is what happens. And unfortunately, Karen and Kevins vote for politicians that make policy count just as much as ours

I think people generally on the fence, dont see stockpiling 5,000 rounds of ammo for hunting or general self defense

There are going to be some spectacular gun/ammo caches surface in a few years when old folks start corking off and their family discovers where the inheritance went!

Most of your friends, relatives and neighbors, will never stock up, even when ammo is cheap and plentiful. They may need help later, that's why I started stocking up ahead of time.

My family knows what I have, they also know that most of it is worth a lot more now, than what I paid for it.

I would wager ammo has outpaced just about every other investment the last 20 yrs.

It's hard to go wrong with it, especially if you took advantage of some special deals in the past.
I bought quite a bit of blemished .22mag about 3 years ago cheap. It has a faint line on the casings, you can't even feel it with your fingernail, and it shoots just like it should. I know I could triple my money on it tomorrow.

Why would they know about it? 99% of people with thousands of rounds buy it mail order; it's not like they're walking through Walmart with a pallet jack full of ammo. My wife doesn't even know how many rounds I have; she just knows it's under the bed and where the loaded guns are.

Or you're still alive and you've gotten plenty of rounds from dead people. Either way round count isn't an issue.

Why would they know about it?
Because they watch the news

Cousins live in california (loonies) Here is how our recent family text thread has gone

"The news here is saying there is a huge ammo shortage going on and most of the buying is from a small percent. Is their going to be large scale violence?"

And thus, they get on the gun banning trains

Somebody is supposed to change their habits, to suit stupid fricks in California? That's how the country got so screwed up in the first place.

People like that are already on gun banning trains; that's why California has the laws it has. I get that 300lb neckbeards wearing a boonie hat and cargo shorts with an AR in Starbucks is a bad look and that it doesn't help gun owners. To a lesser extent I understand the arguments against open carry. I don't necessarily agree, but I get the angle.

But every time a gun grabber wannabe takes office shelves get emptied; I don't see this time as any different. Sheep who believe what the news tell them are already scared of guns. If it's not an ammo shortage the news will find a shooting (where the perp isn't black), or do stories about militias or just make shite up. Anything to keep from talking about the turnip in the WH.

I am unsure what I have said that has made you so upset

I believe people should be allowed to buy all the guns and ammo they want, period. Apparently you are for restrictions ?
