NutriSource is what I feed my a-hole GSP. It’s $50ish a 30lb bag, I feed him 3 cups a day split in the morning and evening. I don’t have a big yard, so he runs a couple miles with me a few times a week and plays with some friends dogs on the weekends. Not counting all the retrieving toys and dummies in down time. He stays at about 58-61lbs. Point I’m making is he isn’t sedentary and all I feed him is 3 cups a day plus the occasional pig ear. It’s a good food, I use the Pacific version b/c it has a little more oil/fat for the GSP coat.

Purina Dog Chow. $24.00/52# bag. Available everywhere. I currently have 6 rescue mutts on it. I've fed it for over 25 years and every dog except one lived to be in its teens (old, blind, deaf, and needing assistance to take a dump). Before the rescue mutts, I fed it to our Labs. They were hunting dogs and lived till we had to put them down due to old age.

I don't know where it ranks on the "Who's who of dog food", but for mutts- no allergies, no shedding concerns, no finicky pallets, don't care what their shite looks/smells like or when they take one - its done well for me.

Members mark protein dog food here.

Good price. Dog eats the shite out of it. Seems to be doing just fine.

She's active and 20 lbs.

I'm paying about $300/mo for frozen raw,

Geezus. Here I was thinking I was spending too much at about $50/month.

This will be for a sedentary mutt. I don't want total crap, but super high end seems like overkill.
