Story didn't add up without the money trail from daddy. Only reason I said anything.
Eta...you will get over it.

Getting back on track. My 2006 Jeep with 55,000 miles, yes 55,000 miles, decided it was a piece of crap and the rear differential and transmission module went out at the same time. While I was out of town in Oklahoma! Six hours from home. So of course I don't know any repair shops in OKC, so the tow truck takes it to a freaking dealership. THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS LATER, I got my Jeep back. I used to like this Jeep. I hate it with a passion now. I asked the douche bag why my rear differential would out so early and told him this shouldn't be happening and he says "well sir, do you gave your rear axles serviced regularly??" I was like "Does anybody have their rear axles serviced regularly!!??" There was a long pause. I could have punched him in the face through the phone.
Ok I needed to vent.

gonna be a sad day when i sell my dad's truck i inherited. It's 2001 F-150, 140k miles on it and no real issues at all so far. Only thing is I wish it was 4wd. I put a leveling kit on it with a/t tires to help the aesthetic look though.

I never was able to get attached to a truck. When I turned 16 I shared an Isuzu Rodeo with my brother for about a year. Then I got a badass Dodge Dakota that I wrecked after about 6 months. It was in the shop for two months. I drove it for another year and a drunk driver totaled it. Then my parents bought my other brother a new truck and gave me his Silverado. It lasted about 6 months with nothing but problems, so I got a new one.

The first two vehicles I had were Jeeps, a 94 Cherokee and a 00 Grand Cherokee.
The 94 was a solid vehicle and I didn't have any problems with it. But no auto locks or windows was a deal breaker.
The Grand Cherokee was good for about a year, then went to shite. Terrible electrical problems and something was always "off" with it. My wife had an 01 GC and experienced the same problems.
I really like the look of the 2011 grand Cherokees, especially the stance of the 4x4 models, but I just don't know if I can convince myself to purchase another Jeep.

This was my first Jeep. And granted it's fixed and working fine now, I feel like I had to blow a lot of money in something that never should have went out, especially that early. Just a bad experience with Jeeps. So they won't have a returning customer. Not that it will hurt them

Got a new to me truck back in May. I traded in my Silverado that I'd had since 2003. Had over 200k on it and I could feel the tranny getting weak so I had to let it go. I still miss it. I keep hoping I'll run into it with it's new owner somewhere around town. My BIL said he saw it, knew it was mine because the #3 stickers were still on the back glass.

ETA: Meant to reply to LSUintheNW
I started driving with a 76 Ford Bronco that my dad has had since 77. He put 33's on it and cut out the back finders so it didn't have the old school "skirt look" When I was 14 we started fixing it back up; we redid the entire interior, sanded the rust spots on the exterior to prepare for a paint job, and had our mechanic put a 345HP Mustand engine in it. I have many memories with my first truck and I'll be damned if my dad ever sells it or if I do.
I wasn't trying to bust your balls earlier, I was just saying some guys have vehicles that have treated them good for a long time.

My very first truck was a 75 Silverado LWB that I tried to turn into a deer stand. At 60mph you can get the cab pretty high off the ground. I have the bowtie from the grill on my bookshelf at home. It's a nice reminder, that and the bulging disc I have in my back.

I miss my '97 2 door Tahoe ALOT
It was an impulse buy when I was 19. A/C never worked, replaced the radiator (popped a hole in it), brake system, starter, new tires, dual exhaust. I gave it up when gas started going up (to $1.75
) and I was just waiting for the next thing to break. I still miss it, even though it cost me a fortune.
