keep your god damn dad's guns. you don't have to have an interest in the sport but you have an interest in your dad and your dad had significant interest in these guns. unless your child does not have dinner or a roof, keep your damn guns. these dudes all trying to take advantage of you.

i mean i understand because i love family guns. But if the dude dont hunt, or shoot. And these guns are going to be put into storage for absolutely zero use for this guy. He may as well sell them to someone who can appreciate them

Look up similar prices on gunbroker.com
You can research the dates the guns were made by going to the manufacturers website and entering the serial numbers. Sometimes antique guns may not have records on them but gun broker is a good start.

I would say don't sell them, grandkids might have an interest down the line.

Yup. That's how I ended up with some of both of my grandfather's guns. Mom's side of the family there was her and my aunt. My uncle took a rifle, and kept a couple of things for his grandson. I got a shotgun, pistol, and Red Ryder BB gun to start my kids out on. On my Dad's side, my uncle took a rifle he wanted, and I got the Browning A5s.

If they are just your run of the mill firearms, then sell them, but if it is some antique or one of his main hunting guns, just hold on to it and see if family members might want it down the line.

obviously you are wrong. what do you want him to do stick them in the garage, collect dust/dust for years then he die one day? He doesnt have use for them, so someone else can appreciate them more.

I agree with what others have said. Even though you have no interest in them, your grandkids, or other grankids of his might. I would be happier than a pig in shite if I somehow got my grandfather's old guns. Hell, I'm hoping to get my father-in-law's chrome plated .45 he has from his father. I wouldn't ever shoot it, but it would be a good sentimental piece to have and pass down to my kid.

What I would do is go to a free anonymous sports focused message board and start a thread that is allegedly asking about the “best way” to sell a gun and then list a description of what I was trying to sell. Then simply wait for someone to say “I will buy it” or “how much you asking?” Pro Tip - Have an email account “username @gmail.com” set up to take the transaction offline.

Most important part. Be sure to deny this was your original intention of the thread even though two or three people do it every week.

If you are VR, then I asked you for a list earlier. I will buy as many as I can afford and keep as many of them together as possible.

I have a few people's grandfather's guns, I keep them as though they were my own grandfather's.
