How to get ants out of dog food

So found out that some ants had infiltrated my dogs food bag this morning. There was no stream of ants coming in, just a few dozen crawling around the container and food. This isnt cheap food, so trying to figure out how to get them to leave without bringing back friends. What is the best way to go?
Just to clarify I am trying to get them to leave the current food so I can secure it after. Never had this problem so hadn’t needed to secure it tightly. I just want the ones currently feasting to leave so I don’t have to toss the food.

I'd toss it. Just about anything you use to kill the ants will be harmful to the dog. Or, pick out food one piece at a time killing ants as you see them.

move it.
then in a few hours move it again.
the ants will leave trying to find the way back to their mound.
May need to move it a few times to get rid of them.

I use a Vittles Vault. Air and water tight. Holds a bag+. I've kept them both outside and in a garage and have never had a bug problem. Shop around and you can find them for a decent price

This was my thought. Trying to get them to run back to the mound but not be able to bring their friends back.
Think Nino's container is the next way to go after these assholes leave.

Put it in the deep freezer.

We have bought several 5 gal food grade buckets with a screw top. We have put our dog and cat food in them and it works well.

Buy yourself a 5 gallon bucket with a lid from TS. Lowes or HD

Smoke them suckers out. Ants book it anytime they get a hint of smoke.

Put it on a stand and put grease on the legs!

where are you keeping the food? Outside or inside?

Toss it and get another bag. Then put that bag in a plastic container with a lid, which is what I do.

Throw some diatomaceous earth on it.

Do you have a chest freezer stick the bag in there over night

I was going to make a joke about soaking the food in antifreeze so that when the ants eat it they die... but I’m afraid someone would think I’m serious and trying to kill OP’s dog.
So I’ll just explain the dark joke that’s in my head. I actually love dogs.
